im starting to a tiny bit. not fully yet but seriously how many soft tissue injury's can one team cop in a year without a little bit of doubt.

still a fan of the weapon but its gonna be hard if this keeps on happening next year.

Im more worried to think we are trying to play Geelongs old game plan which doesnt work anymore everyone knows how to stop it!

Didn't seem to bother Geelong when they beat the Hawks in round two.

I was jesting - Don't think our game plan is too similar to geelong's.

Will worry if Stanton has pinged a hamstring.

Then I have lost total confidence in the fitness regime.

**** it im blaming knights he turned our players into pussys that cant handle a proper training load

We knew this year would be one of transition. We knew that some bodies wouldn't keep up with the rigors of the new fitness program.

Our early season form was a bonus, and we're starting to see the results of heavy training loads. That's all.

We have improved since last year - despite all the injuries. If we keep the improvement and reduce the injuries we'll be top 4 material.

I would be more concerned that the players don't actively hunt down the ball. We need someone to develop the players killer instinct. A weapon is useless if you don't have the guts to pull the trigger.

I'm concerned about the long term imact.

You can't have soft tissue after soft tissue and expect to get bigger and stronger out of it. Since when was that a method of improving fitness.

Hurley has had something like 3-4 hammies, Myers ditto, Hibberd.

id rather they train the players as hard as they can to ge tthe absolute most out of them so we can have a real crack at winning a flag, than going half assed and only being able to manage making a pre-lim and losing ala western bulldogs or north of a few years ago...if it blows up in our face so be it, at least we gave it our best shot, finishing 2nd is no different to 9th or 18th....

So no i'm not doubting the weapon and i wont doubt the program until we are in a position to finish top 4 and then if we lose a pre-lim by a big margin maybe some doubt will creep in..

On the injury front our captain had a lot of hammy issues over the last couple of years now he has his core strength and fitness to an elite level touchwood his hammys have been holding up!! the rest of the team WILL follow!

Well in order to get our players ready for a flag tilt, we had to at one point make our players bigger and stronger. I'd rather suffer now with injuries if it means our players are prime in 2 years time, as Hird said we are expecting short term pain for long term gain. Most of our players who are expected to take us a long way are still maturing. You'd be foolish to expect for our players to have the insane core and running ability like Dane Swan in one pre-season. Let's judge the Weapon in 2 years time, his project is not going to complete in just one pre-season!

Gonna be hard to sell memberships next year if we have a few injuries in the pre-season. Last nights attendance is the proof. Just because it worked for Geelong doesnt mean it will work for us, different bodies, different frames, etc.

Too early to tell. Come round 12 next year, if our STI's are sitting in high singles to double digits, then he has to be put to the fire and made to answer some pretty serious questions. I find the seemingly blase attitude of Hird/Bomber more alarming actually.

He said its an 18 month program so he gets 18 months. That takes us to the start of the 2013 season. Proof will be in the pudding.

BTG

Proof in the pudding - That's my line after The Weapon was appointed

TRB has no choice but to support the Weapon - They sacked Cormack because he couldn't/wouldn't follow follow the regime set by TRB.

I don't think it's Etihad by itself. North play at Etihad basically as much as us, and have had no injuries.

I suspect the issue is more the contrast between the excessively soft surface of Windy Hill that we train on, and the hard surfaces matches are played on. Etihad being an especially hard surface under foot.
