Nothing mentioned in his wiki about not playing many games at full back in 2002 strangely... Maybe coz he played some games more at centre half back instead?

2002 was the season that would set up Matthew Pavlich for the rest of his career. In a widely unexpected move, new Fremantle coach Chris Connolly moved Pavlich into a defensive role. Playing against some of the power forwards of the competition, Pavlich underlined his versatility and talent as a footballer, as he displayed a smooth transition into the role. He showed the uncanny ability of shutting down opponents, while gathering plenty of possession and setting up play further up the ground. This saw him earn his first All-Australian selection at fullback at the age of 20.

....he did kick 10 goals 10 behinds in 22 games in 2002 however, so he obviously did spend some time forward, would still say the majority of his season was in defense as 10 goals was easily the lowest season total for his career and he did play 22 games.

2001 was the year Trent Croad was brought in so it makes sense to be able to throw Pavlich back.

Unsure if this is one of those times you’re passive aggressively taking the piss, but of course sydney can beat Freo (Although I’d have Freo favourites at home as bad as they’ve been).
Passive? I very much aggressively take the piss, I don’t think you know what passive aggressive means

You never want to lose a player like Jackson, but on a day where Jefferson looked really promising in the reserves, that package of him, Freo's first and Freo's second is looking very, very tasty

It is a win/win in the end IMO. Jackson could be generational in his position, but we should be able to turn the pieces we got into some quality.

If we end up with Jefferson, Duursma and pick ~23, we've done very very well. Jackson is great, but IMO, a cherry on top player. A top-line mid or KPF is more valuable at the end of the day

Yeah, in terms of value I think we've won the deal but we need the guys we draft to actually be good, and we won't know that for 3-4 years.

Everyone has to thank danster for his tireless efforts on the drafts and trading board in getting acceptable value in this deal. Even after the deal was done. Bravo 👏

Dont forget to mention the flip flopping of "we ripped Freo off" to "we got ripped off by Freo" since, im glad hes the boards representative on other boards.

Those posts ensured Freo's demise this year. The first time he flipped they got good for a few weeks. Won't make that mistake again.
