He's the best all round BP we've had since Roger.

People who criticise him must have forgotten that post Roger era where small forwards would destroy us every game.
1000%

We used to pencil the opposition small forward in for 4-5 every single week.

Walker gave pickett an absolute bath. Huge win for us.

Thought this could be a danger game - Dees keen to make amends, and our boys complacent after last time out.

Not bog, but I liked Fyfe’s game just winning ground ball and dishing it out to someone in a better spot.

Treacy, well I was hopeful he’d improve his marking this year, but it’s now it’s beyond where I thought he could get to.
Yeah it's almost wierd. Before I was worried he'd be limited to a role player, almost a key size mid, because of his marking issues. Now all of a sudden he's Wayne Carey.

Fyfe feels like an important cog or almost acts as a centrifuge so to speak of which others revolve, or maybe a better word is evolve, in making things happen around him or through him - probably doesn't have the capacity for the gut-running 2 way stuff of a Brayshaw etc, but can still use his size and strength and experience to effect things. Those looping extra-grunt handballs to guys in open space or more dangerous positions really opened up play. Fyfe may have had to slow down and not be "thee guy" like days of old but I think he knows his best ever chance of winning a Premiership lies in this more selfless role where he can find a way to bring others into play.....it's become very valuable

Love how he’s pushing around May and experienced defenders. Swagger.

Just a note on Sonny Walters maturity.

The Freo players ran through the banner with 2 kids, after running through the banner, the plays zoomed off to do their warm ups. As they moved off Sonny went over to the youngster and checked to see if they were ok, then ran with them towards the players near the goal square.

You aren’t given respect, you earn it. Sonny has my respect, as he did something that showed in the heat of match day warm ups, he could take the time to help a young supporter.
He also organised a couple of the starlight kids into the centre of the circle when they were singing the song. He’s a dad, he gets it! What a great bloke he is!

Sounds like a wise older bloke who got out of doing a warm up!

I’ve been a detractor of Sonny’s this year, but god would it be great if he started kicking regular bags this year.

Probably hoping for too much, sometimes our forwards got so loose it seemed like the Dees only had 2 defenders on the ground.
Yes. Don't think we can expect to get our goals from out the back as easily we did today. This is where Walters will still excel.

I thought Fyfe was really good today. Some of his handballs just opened up the ground enourmously.

Honestly I thought he’s played in a similar vein all year, despite people calling for him to retire every second week after he fluffs a kick.

He draws the opposition in, and opens up other teammates with his hands. His vision to find guys in congestion is still very valuable. He does a lot of blocking and creating space too, he’s playing a selfless game and is a midfield general for us.

I tend to agree. Can never get behind the calls to drop him.
