Been informed stand will be demoed in March.
As much as I love the history of the stand (I live in a 100yo house myself), fact is it’s a condemned building with asbestos and rooms the size of a phone box which are not practical.
Just because it’s been around for a long time and is ‘traditional’ isn’t a reason for keeping it particularly when land is at a premium.
Be smart and look ahead.

If you don't think extending the ground to have close to MCG playing dimensions and enabling the club to have the facilities that will allow us to house all the teams we have playing out of Punt Rd, while also ensuring we get to stay at Punt Rd, is 'progress' then I can't help your ignorant, old brick loving moronic self. You might be happy to have one our players have to train at Cragieburn or some other far away venue like the Dees do, but the rest of really don't so if a stand needs to get demolished to prevent that from happening, then that's what has to happen. The new granstand is bigger than the old one mate. MCG dimensions is just a scam and don't forget the new community rooms for fencing, AFLW and other sports.
