I'm glad that we weren't sellers in the trade period this year... seems that no one asked to be traded, and I like the fact that Payton is backing himself in to get this list working together and improving each week.

Can probably give losses to Detroit and Cleveland, but realistically gonna need to win the rest if we are gonna make it to the playoffs.

Texans game is the hardest and probably the most important given we are both vying for the #7 seed. Good thing we earned the tie breaker over Buffalo today.

Vikings next week another tough one that we simply must win. Stadium will be rocking.

I think we get Kareem Jackson back for next weeks game too.

Wow... don't know how we got this one... Vikes seemed to be moving the ball at will, and their D front had us bamboozled.
As much as the 5 Field Goals were frustrating, they did keep the score ticking over.
Sutton and Perine massive late!
And Justin Simmons with 2 huge stops on Hock

I almost said it last week, but this Broncos team right now is feeling to me a lot like Tebows Broncos

Basically the offense is anaemic through 3 and a half qtrs but plays relatively risk free and doesn't put the D in vulnerable positions while the Defence balls out keeping things in touch until late in the 4th QTR when Wilson comes up with a clutch game winning drive out of nowhere.

Exactly the same gameplan as Tebow. The only thing that's missing is Russell Tebowing in the endzone after the go-ahead TD.

Watching the Redskins game …. How in gods Name did we lose to them!?!
We were horrible but so are they..

Could be 7-5 right now

We're playing as a team right now in all phases, however back then it was still fairly disjointed. Particularly the defence took some time to buy in I think.

Like I've said I was critical AF of Joseph but maybe the D took some time to buy back into the guy who used to coach them and was sacked, but I think once you win a couple of games buying in becomes a lot easier and right now it looks like everyone is on the same page.

Payton deserves a lot of credit, particularly after being slammed early in the season by just about every analyst going. He was being deathridden hard, as hard as Hackett almost, but he's shown now why he's a billion x better coach the Hack is.

Still rolling! Good all round win today
D getting it done again... crucial takeaways, couple of red zone stops that forced FGs instead of TDs

Even in retrospect I still would've traded Jeudy, he does absolutely nothing, and with the reports that we were offered a 3rd and 5th rd picks iirc that would've been a steal for us.

In the off-season I doubt anyone will want him. He's soft as butter. Those 2 picks could've been quite handy on draft night if we wanted to do some trading. In particular to go up for a QB but obvs that depends heavily on where we finish which right now is a fair way from elite QB draft spots tbf, but I do think back to how KC went up to get Mahomes despite being in a playoff draft pick area initially.

But aside from JJ I'm glad we didn't start trading guys all over the place.

There's a long way to go for this team, but the belief is there. They're playing for each other... that just wasn't there earlier on this season.

They've certainly bought in, the defence in particular. I think offensively it just took a little while for Payton to figure out the best gameplan, which he seemingly has now, but the D really has bought in now whereas before they looked like they hated being on the field.

I think the guys they cut were telling also, as well as the Gregory trade. Seemingly since then the cohesion has jumped immensely.

Whisper it quietly, but I'm starting to believe in this team a bit.
i dont even want a whisper .. just mouth the words.... ive been crushed since 2015 and dont wanna start to believe in anything yet lol

Broncos a real sleeper now. Payton knows his stuff.
Who'd a thunk it hey? Perennially one of the best offensive coaches in history suddenly apparently completely forgot how to coach.

Either that or maybe it can take a few weeks for a brand new coach to learn how his offense plays and create a gameplan to suit them - and whether or not his QB is washed (I'm still not convinced by his form tbch, I think Payton is masking a lot of deficiencies through sound play-calling and Russ is playing to those instructions)

Probably the first one according to nearly everyone in the first month of the season.

Great team effort today... D came up huge on several 3rd/4th downs
Really good win and it's fairly clear the blueprint works now, I just wonder if it works against the top liners or it's just good enough to get to the playoffs/be in the race and we're still a QB away from the next step. Kind of exactly where we were before getting Russ, just without the restrictive contract.

Though a bit better this time.

Special shout out for Javonte. He's got a brutal role in whats happening, just take a pounding when everyone knows we're running and there'll be no holes at all. Just bang your ahead against the wall for 3 yards all day with the odd blown protection big loss.

Not many guys would even be getting 3 yards a carry in this offense. Everyone knows Russ isn't going to throw it all over the field and we'll be relying on run heavy. Playing such a brutal and thankless role, doesn't get any reward in the way of TDs. Old fashioned bell-cow kind of stuff - except on the goal line.

So bummed this week... Almost turned the game off whilst sitting around the XMAS Lunch table, but thought I'd leave it on to see what happened. Had everyone up and about and paying attention when we tied it up, then when we got the ball back just needing to get into FG range... FFS, had everything to play for and then watched as the Chiefs somehow lost to the Raiders... we could've been one win off the Division lead.
Perhaps the fight back and the mini streak took it out of them? Or perhaps we're just not that good!
Without CSutt on the field we don't look very damaging, there's talk of throwing everything at Mike Evans to get him across in the offseason and cutting JJ off the roster... I just don't know what the answer is, and I'm not sure Paton does either... perhaps he needs to go!?
