Thread title says it all really , I know a gun mid would do wonders but I think a quality fwd can help us more.

Danger. Gets us into a Grand Final next year. And we have to go while we have a key forward like Cloke; even though he can't kick for goal.

Danger is a goal kicking mid, which is a bonus we need.

Im not sure if Dixon is the answer up forward, but we do need another option... just don't know who.

Not Treloar. I'd love him but it'll be too hard to trade with GWS for him.

Danger would come free and would allow Swan to play almost full time in the midfield, Pendles and Danger could rotate forward/mid or could tandem together in the midfield allowing one to run rampant almost always.

Dixon would make selection an issue up forward. You'd think Jesse White would lose his spot. I think he would be the way to go if he's the only forward option available. I'm not convinced by him though.

Just get Cameron whatever it costs.
We need to think about 3-4 years from now.
Would cost Pendlebury. And maybe a late exchange of picks. GWS are a nightmare to trade with. They reamed us for Heath Shaw, we were paying his salary.

They absolutely toweled up the Dogs. Griffen and pick 6 for Boyd? What is this wizardry. He was surplus to requirements anyway. McCarthy is far better than Boyd.

Edit, I'd look at McCarthy but again, trading with GWS would be ridiculous.

Can anyone add anything further or heard anything??. I have had two people (No connection to each other) one a physio in Sydney and the other connected to the GCS through work advise that they have it on good authority that Treloar and the Pies have agreed to terms. A look at the GWS BF site tonight indicates that they have more or less conceded he has gone to the Pies

It doesn't look like we'll get any of the 3 sadly, but Danger by far as he can play fwd or mid and he's in the top 5 players in the competition right now which will boost us into flag contention.

Wonder what we will be parting ways with in this trade will be something bloody good.

I really like Treloar as a player and I do want him at the Pies but I am concerned at what we would have to cough up for him. When you look through GWS list what they need is another ruck and a tall back, not draft picks. I was previously keen to consider trading Witts and or Reid, not so Witts now, and not for another midfielder but for a decent KPF.

I'm quietly confident we'll get Treloar. Just something Pert said about " great kid, but we think he'll stay at GWS". I felt it took pressure of the kid and took the air out of any rumour and innuendo.

1st round pick for sure. Possibly our 2nd rounder too and they give back their 3rd rounder. Shallow draft but they had 2 academy boys that are ranked top 10/15, one being top 5. They'll need more picks.

GWS will know they can't keep all their kids with the salary that they'd demand. This eases that and gives them assistance to secure the 2 youngsters.

I'd love Danger but think he'll head to Geelong. Darcy can play forward next year. I'd give him every chance to have a year as good as Cameron McCarthy has had this year. Witts and Grundy will play together, IMO. White is the back upfront all these guys.

Add Treloar and Greenwood to last nights midfield and we have some wicked depth through there.

I would be happy with Danger or Treloar... it would be great to have either.

And it would be great to get an improvement at FF - but Dixon is not it. The guy is almost 25 and hasn't shown anywhere near enough over his career that he will be any better than our line of 2nd-KPF's... I garuantee you will very quickly become the next Dawes, White etc.

Over the next couple of years we should have a forward line of Cloke, Moore and resting Ruck. If Reid can make it, or if we get someone we think is worth a chance - then there's an option to try a 4th tall, but I'm not even sure that would work out... so I understand people's frustratsion at the moment, and maybe if we can get a gun KPF then it would be worth chasing him, but it won't be worth going after Dixon.
