Honest question: do we deserve one?

While most teams have unearthed handy/decent/good players from their academies, ours has done very little.

The fact that it was neglected/abandoned only for multiple possible academy picks possibly being in the makeup says to me that, no, we don’t deserve an academy.

We won’t getting anything in regards to Academy plus we haven’t got anyone at our club with the business skill and knowledge to run one.

I have been to Tassie but didn't met Maude, I have also visited SA and met plenty of Buckwits.

The Swan has 50 odd employees and 700 kids, we got Maude & Bill and had TT. Stop thinking we have the same level of access to young talent, which if that was the case. I'm certain we would have invested appropriately.

I googled the Swan Academy and this I found of interest...

We already have Wyndham and inner-city Melbourne. It’s common for clubs to have several academy zones, so I’m expecting the maps to be re-drawn somewhat after we depart Tassie. It will be interesting to see what happens and it will be determined by what we are doing and what the AFL’s plans are.

If we find another secondary market to play games in after Hobart then it would be good to have an academy based in that location, if we take all 11 home games back to Melbourne then it would be better to get an additional zone somewhere else in Vic or the NT. However, if the AFL gives the NT the 20th license then it wouldn’t make sense for us to get somewhere there since we’ll lose it again within a few years.

Yes and the Pie has 20 trillion dollars to spend. We have only recently purchased the pot to piss in and are still looking for a window to throw it out of.

Unfortunately it is a waste of time comparing us to them. It's not that we're completely inept. Just we have a couple of darts to throw so can't afford to miss. They have handfuls. Looks like Bailey Smith will be a Pie .

Not sure what we could have done differently with Sanders, I mean having an academy for one kid. Maude and Bill I do believe don't rate him anyways.
