Have sat back & watched the trolling of Collingwood allover Bigfooty this week. As for the GF, I'm not stressed, but reading BF has got me that way. Does the disrespect of all things Collingwood affect your overall enjoyment of following them?

I think I might take a break from here, has reached a new low.

I know we all revel in being the most despised, but there are times when some objectivity wouldn't kill.

Like the polls on the HS or The Age site about the Brownlow. Every objective observer knows it was bullshit, and Dane Swan should've polled votes where he didn't, yet the polls still show Chris Judd deserved it.

I wonder if Dane Swan had played for another team whether the reaction would've been the same.

You have hit the nail on the head, don't mind being despised, in fact love it but some objectivity around polls/the draw/umpiring etc. would be nice occasionally. Basically any survey around Collingwood and another team you have 15 voting for the opposition which produces false and irrelevant results.

It will make it all the sweeter though if we can take home the flag on Saturday and remember on Saturday we are stronger because we stand as one.

Leigh Matthews said last week that there is very little to dislike about this Collingwood team. They're young, and they play as a team, and they tackle hard, win the most contested ball, move the ball quickly, accumulate the most inside-50's, launch attacks from the half back line, and generally play attractive footy. Especially compared to this weekends opposition that like to set up a defensive triangle and chip it back and forth playing tempo footy until they see an opening. Therefore there will be some opposition supporters that will prefer to see the more attractive style win.

Most however suffer from Collingwood derangement syndrome, and despise anything to do with the Magpies, and would rather see a three goal to two goal Grand Final if it means Collingwood loses. When it comes to Collingwood hate, I have a very thick skin for the most part and it's water off a ducks back to me, and I actually feel sorry for people that have such strong negative emotions about anything because it isn't a good quality.

I personally would not want to see Carlton or Essendon win a premiership, but that's mainly because they have won 16 and I don't want them to win their 17th. I'm not fond of St.Kilda, but that has to do with a famous incident in 1972, and a certain number 44, and also their treatment of a Collingwood player that wears number 12.

For a while there it was actually the COLLINGWOOD board that was ruining my enjoyment of supporting Collingwood.

They hate because they care,,, and we, the Mighty Pies are there...in the big one....it's footy, it's tribal and it's what it's all about.

What comes out is the passion and without the passion our game would be just another run of the mill sport.

Really a Collingwood premiership is the most satisfying of all. To know that everyone has an opinion on it. It is quite a sweet feeling. Really you've got to feel for supporters of clubs who know that some people when asked about their win will just go "meh".

I love the banter on this site, it represents what AFL is all about, that while words may be spoken, hardly anyone goes over the top and becomes too aggressive or abusive.

And as for the hate of us, what do you expect, we are playing Stkilda in a Grand Final, they are supposedly the "fairytale" (although I can't see how a fairytale has 2 "alleged" rapists in it), and the main board is almost completely controlled by Stkilda supporting mods.

But if you are a little worried, stay on this board, you will be safe here, no trolls will last long, our great mod team will ensure that.

It starts tonight IMO, the Grand Final Footy Show, then the last training session and the GF parade tomorrow, then the day itself.

Damn, even I'm getting nervous now.

Just stick this board and that's all I do. I don't care what anyone else's opinion on Collingwood is because they haven't sat through previous years, watched pre-season, gone to matches, gone to VFL matches and saw what we have.

I know the inner sanctum of Collinwood knows more than I do but I (and most other Collingwood suppoters) certainly know more than the other teams supporters. Any positive comments are ok but any negative comments are just hatred and jealousy. It's easier to ignore on here than in person but that should all end (for a while) on and after Saturday.

I don't go posting dribble on other people's boards but I understand how annoying it can get.

Support your call either way mate. Just don't lose faith in Collingwood.

Late last night was when I actually started to get nervious becuase I rememberd the GF footy show is on tommorow which mean its 2 days away from the game and that really got me nervious.

Big Footy doesnt affect my enjoyment at all, even when people troll us I love it because they actually use their time to post things on our board which means they care. I love the hate with a passion and I always want us to be the most hated footy team in the league.

No, coming from a despised and repressed minority is the perfect preparation for being a Pies supporter, so I'm used to it.

And it's fun to see every other team's barrackers so rattled.

The ironic thing about things like this is that blokes like Kouta, Kreuzer, Archer, Stevie J and so many more were all massive Collingwood fans for 17 years of their lives, but are now hero worshipped by these same people that despise all things Collingwood!
