Geelong is a Dangerfield, Hawkins, Stewart, Cameron & Duncan retirement away from the wooden spoon.
You obviously havent watched us play if you are including hawkins and duncan in your list. The impact of their decline is already felt in 2024. We wont be impacted by their retirement with current form.

Someone better tell him this. He's on very good terms with himself.
Don't know how you've come to that conclusion. He hardly speaks to the media, and shows next to no emotion on the field.

If the Cats have any young FIGJAM players, SDK & Henry would be the leading candidates....and even that's a stretch.

Bruhn's not even in the conversation.

I’d have us in the bottom 3 with the Saints & Crows. Danger back will make a difference as he’s been great in all his 4 matches this year, two of them being where he’s done his hammy in the second half.

I dunno if they are bad necessarily, a decent amount of talent but they lack experience and leadership right now

Obviously Danger playing helps those two massively but at this stage of his career that’s not ideal

Will be interesting to see how they attack the situation over the next couple of years be it looking for some more experience straight away through free agency/trade or backing the development and growth of the guys already in the side and complementing through the draft

Probably on par with the Crows. Danger and Duncan both over the hill, Holmes footy smarts not that great, Atkins a good VFL type, Miers is bruise free, Clarke looks a bit small, Bruhn is a dime a dozen mid, not much else coming through …….

Hope the Geelong council have been busy approving some big land deals/rezoning regulations!

They’ve stayed up and about for a long long time. They traded away a future to win a flag - and pulled it off. Incredible really. They’ll rebuild on the fly again, as players love going there. Geelong deserve more props than they get.

From recent experience with the Hawks when you hit the cliff it’s hard to attract players ……. but yeah it was easy between 2008 - 2015. Nothing lasts forever!

They made poor decisions not playing Charlie constable and then delisting him …… he is the exact kind of big body bull they need right now at the centre bounce ….. they lost patience and cut him too soon

The same Charlie Constable that went to the Suns, showed nothing and got delisted and is now in the WAFL? The sanevone that no team has any interest in redrafting?

Seems more a classic case of poor drafting in the first place .

constable played along the half back at the suns which was a terrible decision ….. he’s a mid and a mid that Geelong could have used last night!

Not one team has thrown him a life line and you'd gave to think that his AFL career is over. Could find the ball but sadly too slow.

I think that we agree that the cats have a terrible midfield though.

Holmes is pretty good for a 21yo

Jeezus if Constable is the answer, God know what the question is
Perhaps we should have also stuck with George Horlin Smith

You want an 2xAA and 3xBnF winner who averages 27 disposals a game in the midfield?
Please bro, he is really good and I swear he doesn't just blind kick around the corner.
