The AFL are playing the bombers as are Port.

Afl are saying sure you will be compensated for Ryder if you mutually break the contract and he leaves as a 'free agent'. Once they break the contract the AFL will say sorry, he is now a delisted FA so you get nothing.

Port are playing their part by saying we will trade pick 17 for a fringe player or something if you do what the AFL is suggesting. Once the bombers do as above Port say pick 17 for Heppell or Carlisle only... won't accept anyone else

surely some sort of deal can be done for Lowden (GC are being plebs on Gorringe) with our 1st rounder and maybe a few swaps between Essendon, port and Hawthorn. We trade away some of our advantage (due to the FA deal), don't look as bad with other clubs, still win on the trades and everything is rosy.

FFS. Port again come to the party to take an average player for our pick 17 to help the AFL and Essendon fix a problem of their making and we get reamed for it.
