Getting a good feeling this may work out for us with all the hustling going on. Ryder & Gorringe should happen. This deal is as sweet as it's gonna get for Essendon and if they whinge and complain now that the AFL has stepped in to help, Then they'll get nothing. Interesting to see if this plays out now.

The article said Essendon went to speak to the AFL on Monday and we went on Tuesday, it doesn't say who proposed it.

On the other board they are basically saying **** getting pick 17&21 because it's too good to us. Now they are wanting a top 15 pick AND 17. It'd get to the stage where we had 12 and 17 offered it up and then they'd say no we want Wingard + 17.

What about someone like Tayte Pears for 17? 24, 192cm, key defender, has shown he can swing forward and kick goals - has had a bit of a horror run with injuries, but mainly freak stuff like breaking his leg. A Burgess pre-season could be just the thing.

It's extremely funny that they initiated this, read there board and its us that did with no basis that we did and we are being slimy people and blah blah blah, supporters turning into there officials its everyone else s fault lines. What it does explain to people though is why we sought some legal advice yesterday, essendon would of put it to us we would of sought legal advice then went to the AFL if its possible, then they would of discussed with all parties how it would play out if we went this line.

So Ryder is set to activate the clause 'in the coming days' if the deal isn't done. Meaning before the end of trade week, so Port can do other deals with Pick 17 if they want to.

the funny thing is they think they can offer anyone, the player needs to agree to be traded to us, he might want out but no clue he wants to come to port especially seeing he wants greater opportunity be one of the last on his list, plus they will have to to a degree satisfy the AFL even though they will be leaniant.
