What's not consistent about that? Players are never going to bag other clubs in the media, look at the hullabaloo that Ginevan and Rachele caused, and Josh was only bagging Port supporters for fun. Everything that you see in the media is stage managed and scripted to within an inch of its life. Surely you know that?
So logic tell you to wait until what the other side says given the "report" mention "understandable" and Sid's "camp". Surely you know that? The club has a lot of shortcomings and deserves the criticism it gets, but this certainly isn't one of them. Seems like an opportunity to bag the Crows just cos.

Wouldnt be the first journalist to use their position to run a narrative for an agenda for the club they support. Rucci did it all the time and not only did he never hide the fact he did it, he openly bragged about it his entire career. There are very few journalists in the footy industry who dont at some point cave to doing their teams bidding.

The AFL protect themselves & the journalists through their accreditation.
They encourage journalists to ensure noise to make sure they are always in the news. They are not concerned whether there is truth to the story, so long as its not damaging the AFL brand
Agree, if the aim of the media is to report news and do actual journalism.
But it isn't. The main aim of the tabloid Footy media industry is to create discussion and clickbait to generate advertising revenue.

You can't just come out and say "Ken's unprofessional outburst in the semi has Zak Butters disillusioned and is considering quitting the club", get immediately proven wrong, and then go "Ah well it doesn't change the fact that Ken's outburst was unprofessional."

Looking back, Money's report and the posters paranoia that followed couldn't have been more wrong.
Even before being proven wrong, we should have taken that report with a grain of salt. It just didn't sound authentic.
