Teams Dreamteam & Supercoach questions here

Thought I'd get a thread up ready for the influx of DT & SC questions to be posed & answered here in the one thread rather spread throughout all others.

Fire away!

... alright, I'll start ... ummm ...

Although a little tough to gauge before pre-season cup, with Saints players, eg. Joey, Bull, Plug & Siege, etc. having decent years & pushing their prices up, which Saints players may be value picks for DT or SC?

Who - apart from your secret gems - looks good value from other teams?

... hmmm ....

So... this Walsh guy, is he going to be a good pick? :p

Bit hard to tell before prices come out. Armitage is the obvious, Peake could be a good pick-up, I'd rate Miles a chance.

Be interesting to see the starting prices of Scully and Trengove.

Fisher and Gilbert for regular 90 plus scores and reasonable value buys
Mcevoy ,Armitage, Clarke(finally) , Kosi for breakout year and solid performances
Will Johnson for my smokey

Dustin Martin, Trengrove, Morabito and Marigliani for draftees with regulart game time and good perfromances

I'd be interested to see CJ's price in DT especially. Tackling machine and can get a bit of it.
Right on! Has that book or magazine come out with all the stats, tips, etc, etc. Not that you can't find out that stuff with a bit of hunting & gathering.

Goddard, whilst not a value pick should be a priority if eligible as a back.

Players I'd expect to improve over last year - Kosi/Raph/McEvoy/Fisher

Bargain basement - Armitage / Steven

Monitor role - Sean Dempster

Yea ive been thinking alot about Big Ben. How many games do people reckon he'll play this year? Im thinking at least 15 since he managed 11 last year. Can only see improvement from him.

Goddard should be a lock, as well as Roo with a full preseason under his belt and the hunger for redemption.

Ive got goddard and roo locked because they are the best for their positions. Armitage is currently in the mids with his discount, i need him to play first 5 games and he will either become a keeper or easy to trade up to hayes lol. The only other saint on my radar for my starting squad is gram instead of fisher in the backline. Is this a terrible idea? i just think he might get more midfield time again and could be a real real gun. let me know guys

Only Saints I will pick this year are Gilbert (consistent 90+, resilient), Goddard, Armitage (should be cheapish and get plenty of games and good enough to average 80+) and Roo (always going to get good marking numbers and good for 60 plus goals)

I reckon Scully will be a good pick. They reckon he is ready to go and should get at least 10 games this year and from what I saw in the TAC he is a ball magnet.

Nic Suban will be cheapish based on his points last year and should be far more in the play this year. I reckon Tippet, whilst he won't be a bargain, will have a pretty good year.

Kruezner will average 90+ and I think some of the Hawthorn boys will be underpriced (Gillam, Young etc) coming off injury interrupted seasons.

Definately worth looking at Ryder and Dan Rich again won't be cheap but he impresses me as the type thatw ill back up and take another step.

Rich will get the tag imo, his boot is simply too powerful. I agree on tippet, kreuzer and tippet though YUMMY!

how is that big ruckman who won the GF sprint going? was his name stanley or something? pushing for selection?

Rhys probably wont get a game this year due to the pursuit of the GF and having 4 ruckman, Gardiner, King, Mcevoy, Pattison. You can bet your bottom dollar Rhys will feature in 2011 after the retirement of King and maybe also gards.

Watch out for Mcevoy this year. 3rd in recent time trial, huge strapping lad with a big tank, good marking skills. Come round 8-10 lookout!!! Heaps of game time given to him will make it near impossible for King to get a game. Mcevoy will be the new Cox. (imo)

How's Jesse Smith going? Still injured, or looking better?

Give him a wide berth. If he plays any games this year it will be a bonus.

Jack Steven looked great against Hawthorn last season. Is he likely to get much game time this season?

I have Gooddard as my defensive anchor, Riewoldt in attack and no other Saints just yet... but Armitage and Steven are both on my radar for round one.

we think alike good sir!

Cheers. :thumbsu:

See, I can be civilized outside of Bay 13. ;)

What a gentleman you are brother.

Is our man Lobbe going to be worth a pick?

Geez people are going to get a shock armo is over 400K in Supercoach. I doubt he will be as popular as everyone expected

Is that right? Goodness me, that is very deflating and also somewhat befuddling.

Armo had scores of 127- Hawthorn, 43- Essendon & 127- North. Fanfooty have him at $413,600 and thats after his 20% discount. At that price there is much better choices out there I reckon.
Even Jack Steven is overpriced @ $280K after only 1 game. Spewing he played that game otherwise he'd be a lock in every Saints supporters team this year.

Definitely. He's a ruckman at a rookie price who'll be best 22 from Round 1, which is something I can never remember happening before. Plus his style of play is more Dean Cox-like than anyone else (obviously not saying he'll be as good as Cox straight away, but it could be the difference between scoring 50 every week instead of 30 every week like most new ruckman or something like that)..

Lock & Loaded as bench cover i reckon. Good to hear it from a Port supporter that he's in best 22. Had my eye on him for little while.
Whats your thoughts on Dean Brogan. Number 1 ruckman with only rookies under him. Likely to play 22 games & most minutes?

He'll definitely play most minutes when he's on, but he's getting on in years, he's very prone to suspension, has never played a full season (although he came very close in both '08 and '09) and he's never been a big fantasy scorer. More of an old-style ruckman than the new athletic and mobile possession winning type. He'll probably increase his average by a few points and there are definitely worse options, but I'd say there are also better options.

Thanks for the tip. May keep him on the shortlist and keep looking for some others. Im just not convinced on Tippett or Kruezer this season for some reason.
Maybe ill go a Mumford, Hille, McEvoy, Lobbe ruck attack this season.

I'd also like to hear an answer to this.

A few people on the Supercoach board are saying he's fully fit and training extremely well and others are saying he's not back with the main group yet.

He's fine brothers.

Locked and Loaded for a Brownlow.
