Hard to know, it will be different for everyone. 2 x 17.5 min halves with 2.5ish time on, 8 on bench (6 plus 2 subs) will mean every player will be different. Some will have 2 games in a row, others will have a match between, some will be fresher only playing one game.

Freako normally brings it back to a score per average game but will be harder this year with so many variables. Also, Swans and GC are playing GWS in one of their games each so that won't be a great guide.

Mainly looking at players fitness and role changes / game plans I would think.

spot on. i dont think you can really read into stats/ points given the new structures

The matches are 40mins right? So just multiply their score by 5 and thats a rough estimate. Obviously its not accurate because there won't be trash time and players who have elite endurance won't benefit but it gives an idea.

Why by 5?

I actually think watching for roles in this stupid format is more valuable than scores.

Might be good this year as it will be very hard to tell purely by scores, it is going to require research to pick the best options.

Premiums - You just want to see them running and looking fit, I could not care what they score.
Cheap options - Like premiums, you just want them fit and firing.

Rookies - Which position are they playing? and is there a vacancy for their selected side. Eagles/Adelaide - Who fills their small forward role? Carlton - Which player allows Gibbs to play midfield?

Sorry meant 3 I mental blanked; I figured normally matches are 2 hours so thats 200 minutes.

:D I thought you had some scientific explanation!

This NAB cup is different, the format is not going to help much even if you use points per minute, but hopefully we get to see who is in good form and whether someone has moved into a new role.

Will Gilbert play forward? Will Anthony play back? That sort of stuff.

Didn't Gilbert play forward in the Nab Cup last year? Sometimes coaches just experiment a bit. Also need to look at any role changes and align them to other players who are missing that will take the role when they return.

Coaches comments on rookies are important IMO and how fit premiums look. Fev looked good the other week, reminded me of Stewie Dew.

number of interchanges and its affect
Who are getting the tags
Game time

Re: NAB cup dream team record

Not interested in Stauss' new role DWD?

Stauss? whos that

As i said you can add to it, i quickly typed players down off the top of my head. Strauss didnt come to mind.

What role is the playing?? im guessing he would play his normal halfback, sweeping wing role. Lovely kick, so certainly worth adding to the group. Has a few things going for him in that Morton, Bell (retired), Grimes possible move towards middle, Garland, Bruce all missing early or possible different positions.

Quite a few similar players to Strauss. I guess you can add Tapscott to that group aswell, although is he injured again?

Also def add Watts, i really think he could be a suprise, DT game suits his style from what i see. Also keep an eye on Bate.

+
Bate
Watts
Strauss
Tapscott?

OMG know it all has missed the off-season  :D

does anyone know if tonights game will be on justin.tv or any other streaming website?

if so link thanks :)

imo dangerfield looked like he did, but more so in the first game where blokes like thompson weren't playing. played more forward in the 2nd with a few shorts stints on the ball. 50/50 for mine. though he did look nice, clean.

petrenko seemed to slot in nicely on the hbf, played a rebounding role both games.
one to watch, but when it comes down to it i still probably wouldnt pick him

Yarran

I got burnt by him in the first few rounds last year when I realised that he won't score well on DT even when he has a good game and kicks a few goals due to lack of TOG. Traded him out after rd 3. He ended up averaging 60 for the year. A move to the half back flank could mean an increase of TOG and possessions. Will watch him closely in the NAB cup to see what role he plays. Could be a bargain mid-pricer for the forwards this year if he can get his average up to around 80. Certainly has the skill and is a good mark for his size. Question marks on whether he can get enough of the ball and run out games playing of half back though. Definitely worth having a look at his pre-season form before writing him off (again) though. If a Carlton player significantly increases his DT average this year, Yarran is the player most likely IMHO.
