Society/Culture Elon Musk - Takeover of Twitter?

Not at all. Look at what he's done with them. Shoddy build quality. Stuck them in a tunnel in Las Vegas. Abused worker rights.

Cars out of Asia are getting rave reviews, so Biden stuck a 100% tariff on them.

The perception of cognitive dissonance looks like one that conservatives want to beat everyone else over the head with.

Meanwhile public transport is the actual solution to many problems EVs claim to solve.

So you’re against electric cars? Shocked to be sitting here!

He has done some amazing work with Telsa and Space X, can't take that away from him despite some of his out there views.

Dude should have stayed away from social media though.
Has he?
Or has he just taken credit for other people amazing work and gotten stupidly rich at the same time?

It's all just too beautiful. He takes a known left wing echo chamber away from them, yet they're so addicted that they continue to use it in their mission to rail against him. Every engagement on twitter increases its value to investors and therefore generates more revenue for Elon to supply to his pro Trump PAC.

I'm not even being a hater here, I'm throwing the left a bone: if you truly have principles, get off twitter! Right now it's the equivalent of if collingwood supporters said "You know how we could really own the Carlton supporters? Let's all buy Carlton memberships and use them to complain about the club".

You missed the part where all the advertisers left twitter, and the 80% drop in value since Elon took over.

It's bleeding money.

Thinking twitter was a left wing echo chamber because they banned nazis sure is a view also

Simple queston for you, and would appreciate a simple yes/no answer as opposed to a tangent.

Do you think it is important for a service such as twitter to be politically neutral ?

Value to investors. Good lord.

This was Musk's claim before he took it over. It was losing $4 million a day at that time.

Now he has blown about 30,000 million dollars.

4 per day. 30,000 in what... 2 years?

That's about $40 million per day.

FK has to troll over that, though :D

100% winning.

Geez they'll need to do bit better than they are currently then.

Come on lefties, LIFT! :tearsofjoy:

If Temu are paying him per ad he'll be making billions per year. Every 3rd tweet, it's ****ing infuriating

Even in the comments of a post now, Temu is top. The "i dont like this ad" feature does not work

You must be doing something wrong, I rarely see any ads at all.

Mute and/or block them

it sounds like FK pays for a free site.
Correct - bigfooty! As for X, I don't use that crap let alone pay for it.

It's very hard for me to answer without a tangent m8 but definitely "yes".

Do you think that Twitter is currently politically neutral?
Do you think it has ever been politically neutral?
No and no. Deplatforming people and organisations for reporting on the factually accurate Biden laptop story in 2020, for example, was disgraceful. The sentiment then was "private organisations can do what they want". Now Elon has swung it too far the other way (going by what I've read here anyhoo) and that way of thinking has been abandoned.

I don't like his new robots. I'm getting a supervillain vibe about this guy.
I saw a clip a few months back of him saying "I lost my son because of the woke mind virus... so I vowed to destroy it" and it had such supervillain-origin-story vibes about it.
