Coach Fages and the coaching group

Yeah pretty sure Will Ashcroft mentioned that we had "ZERO club culture" and are the "worst down hill skiers in the AFL" when he nominated to join us.

Seriously though, such denigration of our senior coach is starting to reach Trumipan levels of delusion.
Carlton just showed more courage and character in that third quarter against Collingwood than we have shown all year. Big stage, clutch situation, full glare of publicity and weight of expectation - Carlton stood up.

Let’s hope our lot are watching
AND THEN COLLINGWOOD DID THAT!! WHAT AN AWESOME WIN! WHAT COURAGE AND CHARACTER! WE ARE NOT EVEN IN THE SAME LEAGUE! WHAT A CLUB! I AM JEALOUS!

Surely we have to give Davis the boot and throw some money at Rutten, right?

I’d be trying to see what else we can offer the likes of Lappin or Power to come home and sort out midfield out. Our midfield actively regressed this year from the last 3 years, and I’m starting to see why Bruce was moved on from 2 clubs previously.

Maybe unpopular but I’m not necessarily against Adcock in the forward line because our forwards are clearly getting the job done for the most part, there’s just not much you can do when the only entry’s you’re getting are massive high bombs
Our forwards (exclude Cameron) and particularly our keys are downhill skiers - they do not work hard defensively off the ball. Something needs to change.

Daniher flops about like a Thunderbird that has had his strings cut.

Seriously, I’d be happier if Daniher modelled himself on Josh Kennedy or Charlie Dixon instead of Pee Wee Herman.

Interested to see what other peoples thoughts are about my take here: I believe we have the personnel to beat Melbourne but is almost solely our game plan vs theirs which doesn’t compete.

Thoughts?

I wonder if Fages and Lethal still catch up regularly for a meal like they did in the early years...would love to know what Leigh thinks of our current situation and his advice to Fagan.

Well then by that virtue Adcock, as a defensively minded midfielder, should be the perfect coach for that lol

Absolutely wild that you would even consider putting JJK and Dixon in the same sentence.

Not sure how that in anyway replies to my comments so why quote me? Just seems like your conformation bias running wild again and your cherry picking seriously irrelevant circumstances to prove some obtuse point about..... well I'm not sure what, but you seem very needy for some sort of associational success and willing to attack anyone who you believe doesn't bring you the vicarious satisfaction you crave.

TLDR: Get a life.

I still believe this lot of players are capable of winning a flag BUT a few things need to change...Time for a fresh start. As of now.

Time to hand over to the young ones. It was suggested Cam Rayner for Captain, not something I'd even thought of, I have now.....what a brilliant idea!

Cam would die for this team, his heart is in every game to the best of his ability and he speaks well in an interview and he's likable which our current captain isn't.. Could be the makings of him. Zorko and Andrews are out of the equation now, Andrews hasn't looked interested all year.... and Zorko for being a dickhead .....they've had their chance. We need to move on.

...and get Noble back. When Leppa left Tiges to coach us, they stagnated, when he went back there they won flags. Hardwick/Leppa worked. So did Fages/Noble.

Also, agree Fagan needs to go back up to the coaches box.

(i'm a huge JBerry fan but not captain material imo)

...oh, forgot about JDaniher....needs a good kick up the backside to get him moving for the whole game and to lose that smirk of his.

We can't play 4 quarters consistently. Only game we did it this year is against Swans I think. Until we can do that, we won't be a chance to beat Demons. If Dees play a blinder in spite of our 4 quarter effort - then bad luck. But consistent effort through the entire game is the starting point for us to even compete with them.

If we get another 60 point belting does Fagans job come into question?

Game plan comes to question first. Beaten 3 times already and if we're not trying anything that's on both players and coaching group.

Reluctance to change anything in the game plan or players will bring Fagan's job into question.
