On The Hamster Wheel tonight Chas wore Bulldogs merch on TWO separate occasions, so I think he might be a fan.

He wore a Bulldogs jumper in their Sport segment.

And he wore what looked like a Bulldogs member's T-shirt while being whipped by Phillip Adams.

I've seen Chas at a few games, he was up on the top level.

I asked Nick many years ago-would have been the late '80s and he said Footscray. Then again he likes to take the piss. If you could check that would be great. :thumbsu:

Wow! A rare appearance from Captain Sensible. We are indeed honored that a Bulldogs BigFooty legend has entered our midst once again. Pull up a chair and stay awhile. :D

There were plans on asking President Obama to become an honorary Bulldog member a few years back when he was supposed to visit Melbourne. The trip was canceled because of an economic emergency or something. I was asked by someone in the Bulldogs administration to email the President and tell him my story with the club and encourage him to accept the membership. The guy owes me after all. Too bad nothing ever came of it. I can just imagine having a kick of the footy with the President on the White House lawn.:p

Chicago1 you are an enigmatic poster. Your stories incite a lot of interest within me. I'd love to hear your story one day.

Insert Wayne's world reference kneeling on the ground "We're not worthy.. We're not worthy..."

Thanks Jim. I'd love to see you having a kick with POTUS. I could tell my kids "hey, I know that guy!" like I used to when you were on 774 :thumbsu:

I'm blushing.

Have a read of my friend Cheryl Critchley's book: "Our Footy - Real Fans vs Big Bucks" Chapter 5 - Following from afar(the first half of the chapter - there are even some pics a few pages before the chapter begins). That's about it in a nutshell.

You knew me way before 774 -when I was a nobody(just like now, once again.:p) I can't believe it's been three years since I did the show. I do not miss the 2.45am phone call every Friday morning. And my tipping has been shit this year. They would have fired me by now, way before some on here called for Macca to be sacked!

Clive Palmer wut.
You don't have to like the man to accept a piggy back.
If he had, say, $8m spare change just lying around it could just about wipe out the debt.

William McInnes (actor) is also a Doggies supporter (not sure if it has already been mentioned). He is currently in the series 'The Time of our Lives' on the ABC and there have been a few Doggies references - receiving a Doggies beanie for his birthday and his son drawing a picture of him and his dad wearing Doggies colours. Shane Jacobson (Kenny) is also in this show and I think he is a Doggies supporter, also.

Are we sure Clive is a Dogs man? He's from QLD isn't he?

If so, why the fuark have we not approached Clive Palmer to be our number one ticket holder..? I don't even care if he is an absolute moron and clinically insane, the potential benefits and exposure would be massive. He's a bloody billionaire for god sakes.

If we got in his ear and sucked up to him a bit, I'd assume he'd help us out to a degree. Could mean a stadium upgrade for WO or a bit of $$ for the VFL team. Someone send an email to the club if you're 100% sure he's a Doggies man as that could be something they aren't aware of.

Considering how Gold Coast United went, for the sake of all sports he shouldn't be anywhere near Sport in general.

Plus he's a Rugby person first.

Lindy has swapped shifts mate. She does 7-10pm now so the calls would be at a more convenient hour. :thumbsu:

I've listened to Lindy a few times, but the 4am start is a pain. However, if she were doing the footy tipping on her show at an equivalent time as the old show, it would be at 6.45am Friday my time, quite doable. But her show is preempted every Friday evening for the footy, so it would have to be on Thursday. That's OK, five years was enough for me. It never was the same after Alan Attwood left. The combo of Lindy, Alan, Gerard Whateley and me seemed to work. I'll always be grateful for the opportunity 774 gave me.
