Fev facing axe from Brisbane over claims....

We'll agree to disagree...People in glass houses ...weren't Shaw & Didak suspended by Collingwood?....Taking the media crap out of it, here's the transcript.. “Respect and responsibility toward women is something that this club thinks is non-negotiable.” Lions CEO Michael Bowers said in a statement. “We feel that the allegation is a very serious one and we think if the behaviour is as described, then it's unacceptable behaviour for anyone in football.” The club launched its investigation after being contacted by a man who complained about Fevola's behaviour towards his wife at the function that was also attended by two of their children. “While everyone is entitled to the presumption of innocence, the Brisbane Lions Football Club wants to make clear it is taking this incident seriously and feels the only proper course of action is to suspend Brendan immediately from all club activity until such time as the AFL and police have had an opportunity to investigate the matter further,” Bowers added. “The Club will continue to cooperate fully with the AFL and any Queensland police investigation." How's any of that hanging Fev?

Wasn't Mitch Clarke done recently for taking a piss in the middle of a crowded bar also?

Which one would be worse? A guy just pulling his knob out and showing it to someone.....or someone who pulls his knob out in a crowded room with 100's of woman and men around and takes a piss?

Personally i don't see a massive difference in the acts - probably the biggest difference is that one is alleged and seems very unlikely to be true.

Must ask the question - did Brisbane release that statement because it cares about womans rights - or did they release that statement because Brendan Fevola was involved?

Bogus statement by the club - pretending to "care" about women Victims in this crime when it only cared about distancing itself from the player and quite possibly moving him off the list to save them the $$$$

The club could have been a little more discreet given it was out of season, it didnt need to suspend him pending any investigation, it just need to say it was under investigation. If it was in season, then the assumption of innocence would still have to prevail until an investigation proved otherwise.

I think brisbane buckled under AFL pressure, because they have been gunning for him since the Ireland headlock episode. And given Brisbanes parlous salary cap situation, they saw an out and jumped like a fish at feeding time.

Now they face a situation where it's possibly a bogus claim from an aggrieved husband and possibly a wife forced into making a complaint days after the event because her husband stands to be charged with making false statements and claims. And you have a playing group, that by all sounds of it, stood to gain from Fev's departure, but have seemingly taken his side of the argument, which probably speaks volumes about what is known about the incident. Talk about a fractured club! Brisbane is the poster child for disenchantment.

And it will all fade away into insignificance...Media beat up...The Roll up. roll up to the Fev circus was instantly dropped like the proverbial hot potato.. when all avenues show they stuffed up big time and went too early...Like some on here with Brisbane, read too much into it and went looking to blame someone on on

Laughed at Mike Sheehan on OTC last week back peddling... wishing he had his time over...Now it seems just a few stragglers are wanting their 15 minutes of fame

We'll just leave out that the partner involved made a complaint to the Brisbane Lions , the AFL and the Queensland Police to suit your ramblings will we?.... Has anyone come forward and lodged a complaint about Mitch Clark?

So, you admit, they went too early?

shaw and didak had actually admitted to doing something wrong though, but on that matter, I emailed the club as i was disgusted with what they did!

Words equate to about 7% of communication, the body language + the words and the way it was worded left no doubt to the clubs attitude.

You can spin it any way you want but they have not supported him one little bit.

They suspended him indefinitely on the word of some silly women!

I might get a chick i know to say Milne did something to her on Wednesday this week....be handy not having him in the team next week.

Yep you're right!! Shaw & Didak did admit to doing something wrong........ after lying to the club that stood by them!!!!

Suppose the husband was threatening to go public - was the club right to pre-empt that?
It was always going to get out, it doesnt mean you stand someone down pending an investigation unless you pretty much witnessed the event yourself. Now if it comes out they stood him down because they wanted to distance themselves from a bloke in a he said she said situation, where the she says side of it is probably having a bit o naughty behind the hubbies back, then it really makes Brisbane look very very vulnerable to claims of expediency and lack of support for players who could be accused of anything.

Fev is an idiot, but he still deserves due process and the assumption of innocence. And innocent men shouldn't be hung out to dry by a club shitting its PR pants.

I think it was more their salary cap... pants???

Well, it seems you blame them for the clubs actions, so it must be their fault!!!!

Not at all!.....The media made this out to be more than it actually was....Standard practice this day and age for an employee being stood down pending an outcome of a sexual misconduct investigation....

Try a google search on "employees being stood down pending an outcome of a sexual misconduct investigation."

The media stood down fev pending an investigation?

Aren't they clever little bunnies the media.:D

I wonder if ALL clubs should do this in future.

I can see no grand final this week, as half the players have been suspended pending an investigation over allegations from member of the public.
never mind that that a player of the club will vouch for the said player or that members of the public will as well.

I hope we have organised some professional help for Fev, jokes aside. This is very very damaging to a person. To be treat like this. The damage to other players as well. They now know that the club could and would do this to any one of them.

So why was he not allowed to go to the Best and Fairest. were they afraid he was going to Sexually Abuse someone at the function?

..Gee...Campbell, so attending a Club Best and Fairest should be excluded from the Club suspension?....If only the husband was more reasonable with his timing in lodging his official complaint against Fev, to the Brisbane Lions, The AFL and the Queensland Police....He should have waited till the Friday after the B&F so Fev could have gone....

since when is a phone number exchange shagging?

and my club are a disgrace. suspending a player over this. not supporting him when he has witnesses to the event.
where too now for fev. poor bugger.

It takes two to tango. Fev's married as well you know.

Exchanging phone numbers is the story in the media, not mine . :)
Two to tango , correct , but one cried innocent victim and not a willing participant of the dance when caught ? :) :)

So, next season before round 1. Some person can lay a similar allegation, not go to the police, say against Simon or Browny, and we should suspend them, on that?

Weird world we live in.
