I am thinking of making a Sporcle quiz relating to men who appear both clean shaven and have a beard in movies. So far I have thought of:
Al Pacino in Serpico
Lee Marvin in Hell in the Pacific
John Travolta in Urban Cowboy
Tom Hanks in Cast Away & Forrest Gump
Charlton Heston in Planet of the Apes
Robin Williams in Jumanji
Harrison Ford in The Fugitive
Bruce Willis in Hostage
Steve McQueen in Papillon
Richard Gere in Sommersby
Are there any other well-known instances I should consider?
On a similar note, have you ever watched a movie where a character's appearance changed drastically and there was no logical explanation for it?
One movie where this happened was the 2016 comedy 'Dirty Grandpa' with the character Cousin Nick, a loser ne'er-do-well type, played by Adam Pally. In the first half of the movie he has scruffy, unkempt hair in keeping with his slacker character and he also walks just fine. However, in the second half of the movie his hair is styled into short dreadlocks, and he is on crutches.
There was no scene - either deleted or in the film to explain these changes - the events of the movie take place over about a week, nor was there any mention of Adam Pally having some sort of accident off the set during making of the movie and injuring a leg (hence the crutches), nor working on another project at the time to explain the changed hairstyle.
