Fixture Finals 2022 - Cats go in as Minor Premiers.

We've been lucky draw-wise this season. We've got to play North Melbourne and the WCE twice (although no one expected the WCE to have the season they had in 2022 when the draw was done in late 2021). It's not often we get a draw like that.
Agreed, and it does inflate our percentage and win total a little. I think we are still a little in front of Melbourne, but not as much as the ladder would suggest.

If Carlton wins today, then we will not have played a single finalist twice.

On field we have the Colliwobbles covered, but the off-field factor cant be ignored. There will be 85,000 in the MCG for this game and we will be lucky to have 15,000 in there, probably even less as it will be a Friday night.

Win this game and my doubts about our ability to win this flag will be gone.

So another home final at opponents home ground with majority of support against
Pretty disgraceful we finish 2 games clear ontop of the ladder and our home final is at the MCG infrony of 70,000 screaming feral collingwood fans.

Basically we finished first for nothing and collingwood finished fourth for everything

Would be nice if our fans could find a way to be a bit more feral at the football. The polite applause you get at KP most weeks just doesnt cut it.

Sure, but you cannot expect to host a final which sell out the MCG, at a 21,000 seat stadium. You just can't.
It should be up to the home team and not the AFL financial trust fund. Otherwise throw out the home final nonsense all together if its pick and choose what benefits the AFL’s wallet

No excuses, a home final was never happening this year with the construction and we beat the pies at "home" in all 3 of our 07-11 premierships. Our only win in the first week of finals since 2011 was thanks to Isaac Smith and that pathetic rot needs to stop now if we're going to win this thing.

Phukin Carlton chokers. Now we have to play the toothless flogs at the G unless Sydney win. Where's the justice? No reward for finishing top. If it was Port or Brisbane finishing top they would be getting a home final. Bloody disgrace, stuff the crowds there has to be an advantage for the team clearly finishing top and there isn't in our case. Home ground advantage is massive.

Pies have done well and have been playing with heart.... Freaks in close games.

But... finished 17th last year and has probably the worst % of any top 4 side in history (only 10th best in the comp).

We have around 300 more points for and 300 less points against for the year.

If we can't handle them easily, I'd be very surprised.

We will burst their bubbe like Sydney last week and like the Blues should have today (if they weren't massive chokers)

Blues had a few decent players out and had a handful of serious list cloggers playing today, choked again, and still nearly beat the pies.

Prelim bound for sure.

Geez if we only get 15k to a home final out of a possible 85k then that’s a poor reflection on cats fans.

We’ve got 70k members, it will be at the pies home ground but it’s our home game. Cats fans should be there in drones.

Geelong should beat Collingwood by 5 or 6 goals, but nobody wants to be complaining about the fixture when you finish on top 18-4 and your reward for doing so is playing your first final on the opposition's home ground!!

Sure, then play it on a Saturday arvo when Geelong fans can get to the game and get home at a reasonable hour.
