Imagine if we hadn't been so putrid against Collingwood or shat the bed against Adelaide.

Imagine if GWS were smart enough to set up properly at a stoppage when they are in front with 8 seconds to go. Imagine if Melbourne had kicked straight at Subi in that game we were lucky to win. Very happy with 5th.

With the week off then a thursday night game at home then an 8 day break the players are getting a pretty sweet deal with recovery time. The Hawks v Geelong and Sydney derby finals will be brutal compared to what we face against the Dogs, then playing the 2nd final at the G is really good preparation for the GF because we'll have to travel to Sydney for a prelim. I'm liking the draw fine, home and away is done and dusted we did pretty well to equal last years wins considering how much tougher our draw was and how long it took to hit form. No excuses from here really, play the cards we've been dealt.

Dogs is probably the best possible 1st round hit out, no real ruck man. Forward line is Stringer and no one else, and he is playing poor at the moment. Our midfield should crush them, and how do they stop our forwards.

We should win easily, just hope they are not complacent coming in to game.

They have a few ins though ?
And unlike North, they aren't a soft team , so they won't go down without a fight
I think this match will be closer than many are suspecting (which would be a good thing - I want a decent preparation for the week after )
But agree - hope our team aren't complacent

I really don't think the Top 4 is as crucial to premiership success this year as it has been for past years. Remember that everyone gets a week off before finals, that could freshen up a lot of players and we all know how even the top 6-7 teams are on any given day. Having two byes in 3 weeks could stagnate some teams who finish in the top 4.
My thoughts exactly. Even last year winning in week one killed our momentum and it took us a while to get going vs norf. I also like the fact we have our first final on a Thursday night which gives us extra recovery without killing momentum hopefully

Going to pretty huge night. I feel the dogs checked out yesterday but will come over here breathing fire. Should be a good contest.

I think the Crows was the last team to win the flag outside the top 4 in '98 I think. We need to stay positive but its going to be ruddy hard.
Interestingly, our current record would have seen us finish top of the table in both of the Crows premiership years. Oh if it were only not so close this year! Still, it means there's not much separating the top 6, should be a cracker of a finals series and we might have just hit form at the right time :D
