I may have been a tad negative since last year (for good reason I believe, ball movement was shite) but I’m sort of calm atm. It stinks to lose like that especially against that crooked club but losses like this can be beneficial in the long run. At least I believe so.

Not really a good thing that 6 of our 9 goals came from free kicks. Of course its great from a forward pressure perspective since most of them were htb calls, but that's not a sustainable way to score. We really need key forwards to start marking again, and for Amiss to get his groove back.

Honestly the worst part about the dissent call is the umpires waiting so long.

If they called it when the whole team was having a go at them then the penalty is 50 metres, but no they wait until literally the split second after giving the all clear for a goal to call it.

I think you'll find it was for something when the ball was on the way back to the middle. A freo player turns his head and says something, Umpire then pays dissent.

They media can't do their whole little "Carlton are the benchmark of the competition" spiel without also acknowledging that we are legit and had the best of them for the majority of the game (I mean they can, and they will, but it will be incredibly hypocritical when they do).

It depends what was said. It wasn't picked up on Mics. There's is nothing wrong with pleading that it was touched, that's not dissent but if Treacy has called the Ump an f'ing cheat then it's dissent.

Do you need the umpires to kick the ball for them to realise the AFL have favourites? Watch the Bulldogs 2016 grand final. Watch the Giants v Collingwood final game and tell me with a straight face AFL doesn't chase the $$.

I’m away and haven’t been able to see the game but actually sounds worth a rewatch because I’ve gotten most of my anger out just reading the posts in here.

Unfortunately, having young KPFs and then a lack of forward talent around them is going to cause issues if we want to truly progress. It’s why I’m all for McDonald because we skip some of the waiting time and just get more talent up there.

Can see the appeal now. Tabs is maximising himself, but ideally going for McDonald with Amiss and Treacy- would seriously have us as a contender.
