Carlton peeps, come on, no one on here wants your advice, stay out

Edit: holy **** Carlton people, how can you think anyone here wants your input on umpires or anything to do with the game. Stay out or get pointed

I've never seen a group of fans so cocky after winning a game that could've been decided by one play
It was 21 shots to 25 with 45 i50s to 48. And that's including the last two shots gifted to them.

A forward line of two Coleman medallists vs two 21 year olds. Not to mention the 2x Coleman medallist matched up against a third gamer for most of the match.

Coming in here criticising our game when it was toe to toe. Either extremely delusional or they're just not as good as they think they are and this is their way of coping.

Not sure if this has been posted or not but it came up on my feed.

I am currently in the pocket where that incident occurred and thought the umpire called a holding free (soft one) and not a mark? Did the umpire pay the mark or a freekick. Either way, neither was there.

I think that until this week the rivalry was fairly one-sided and clearly some over confident baggers have realised we hate them and decided to give it back in spades.

If they’d won by 5 goals I’d understand the vitriol but after a game either side could have won it’s clearly just the insecurity of supporting a shit side for two decades that has taken over.

Let them have their round 4 win. They are nowhere near the most dangerous team I’ve seen this year and it will be delicious and hilarious when they middle out as a 4-5th team and have to rebuild again without the trove of number 1 picks they’ve grown accustomed to for being a joke of a football club for close to two decades.

A couple of things for me:

- Bookies have Carlton 4th on the betting line for the Premiership. Freo not in the 8. That game didn't look like that at all. We looked like we could have beaten them just as easy as the other way around.

- Yep. Umpires who think they are the most important part of the game need to be moved on.

- Nice reminder that Treacy (21) and Amiss (20) are still a work in progress. They won't develop the consistency we all crave for another couple of years and another 50-80 games. I'm sticking by them to improve and be a formidable unit, but there'll be some ups and downs along the way.

- JOM needs some game time. Full game next week or Peel. Sub isn't ideal for him. He's a 'touch' player who needs to get his hands on it.

- Also a nice reminder that all your players have to contribute. You just can't carry someone anymore through games. I don't want to pot anyone but there's a 31 year old in his 12th season who just had a 3 kick game. That just not acceptable.

- Looking forward to Port and the challenge.

I'm not buying the flag hype on Carlton. Decent side, roughly on par with us. But I would rate GWS-Demons-Port-Swans as clearly better. Also think Geelong might be a tad better. Who knows if Brisbane or Pies get going.

Can see them finishing 5th or 6th and
us having to play them in an away final. Can you imagine the umpiring fix that will be in?

I'm still not convinced they're a good team at all, just a lucky team. 7 of their last 8 wins have been by less than a goal (including today, which was really 4 points), and they never have calls go against them once it gets to that point. They don't look unstoppable at all.

"Undisciplined dockers hand blues controversial win"

Yep, Vic media doing their thing. Always has been and always will be VFL
I can't stand people focusing on the dissent as the thing that cost us the game and debating the legitimacy around it. It was clearly the kick before that, you know, the one that generated the dissent.

They are definitely a flag chance. Remember 2016?

Happy for us not to be 4-0 just so I don't have to hear " Flagmantle"ad nauseam for the next week at least, I don't wanna hear that word until the cup is bolted down at Cockburn
Also happy to not have to wear my "Lucky" Freo boardies for the rest of the year
yeah I also hope we lose games against our biggest rivals so I don't have to read some cheeky banter 🤡
Responding to trolls makes it more work for me and I’m on holiday, please stop
This is what you signed up for, tbf

So I watched it. Glad I read here first as the melts dropped my expectations to the floor which meant I didn't blow up like I would have live.

My overall feeling is the same as it's been for a while, we can't capitlise on dominance because our delivery and forwards just aren't that effective. A massive part of this is the age of Amiss and Treacy, but we're crying out for 2 dynamic forwards and/or a class inside 50 kick.

Gryan Miers, for example, would be massive for us.

I’m away and haven’t been able to see the game but actually sounds worth a rewatch because I’ve gotten most of my anger out just reading the posts in here.

Unfortunately, having young KPFs and then a lack of forward talent around them is going to cause issues if we want to truly progress. It’s why I’m all for McDonald because we skip some of the waiting time and just get more talent up there.

This is a genuine question, which trait of McDonald is of any use in that game? The only KPF to stand out was Curnow and he did it with bulk contested marking.

I'm willing to concede he'd do better than Tabs, but is he getting a kick on Weitering?

I personally think that besides the sitter, Treacy was mostly good and that game made me surer that we need Darcy.

Not really a good thing that 6 of our 9 goals came from free kicks. Of course its great from a forward pressure perspective since most of them were htb calls, but that's not a sustainable way to score. We really need key forwards to start marking again, and for Amiss to get his groove back.

I was expecting these to be mostly dodgy calls but at least 4 were definitely there and the other 2 could have gone either way which is cancelled out by a couple not paid.

Catching defenders holding the ball in D50 is absolutely sustainable because their other option is to bomb it out which often ends up and repeat inside 50s.

Carlton just aren’t that good lbh

I think they're clearly top 6, but not sure if they are top 4.

Won’t make our team any better according the media. Probably come back via Peel
V
Amiss missing to put the club up 15 points allowed Carlton a sniff. Limited chances, mean he has to make those
Too true,
Been dissapointjng last couple, half hearted chases and as I said that bullshit walk in goal shot run up is not sustainable over varying distances. Missed couple sitters last few weeks. Neva strikethrough/Often Misses recently.

The comp is evenly poised. Collingwood, even after losing, are still going to make top 4.
Sydney loss to Richmond.
Finals is obtainable. Has to be
