Cmon game done, points given..let’s move on to another tough task.

We have Fast Freddy and Switta as possible outs, Darcy could be back and Tabs went mia against a quality side. Few things to work though let’s move on from this.
Stunning and brave of you to single out Tabs while completely ignoring Jacksons pathetic performance, Brayshaws butchery of the ball and Amiss getting one who kick in a half of football

Maybe open your eyes instead of searching for likes by using Tabs as bait yeah?

Worried about Amiss, he doesn’t have the big game fire that champion players have from day 1
Rubbish. Go back and watch Hawkins first 30 games. He averaged 1.3 goals in his first 3 seasons. He kicked 4 in the finals series of 2009 in 3 games, it’s 2 in the GF.
I think he’s regraded as a big game player now.
What a ridiculous expectation to place on Amiss, who’s 20, played 29 games in 2.15 seasons. He’s tracking the same as Hawkins for games to 50 goals.
Cut the kid some slack.

Surely pathetic is a massive overstatement?

Reckon this loss could really galvanise the group for the rest of the season.

I hope internally it is really framed as what we could have done better to win a game we put ourselves in a position to win, rather than anything involving the umpires.
Anyway it could really work as an us against them (the AFL/rest of the comp) motivator going forward.

"You f**king idiot, Jordan!"

Apparently Jordan Clark was abusing himself for conceding the mark, and the umpire thought it was directed at him.

Anyone else hear what Ralph said on this half time interview speaking about that information?

"Alex Pearce went to clarify that with the umpires who said we didn't hear exactly what was said but we felt it was demonstrative"

That can't be right....

Fremantle defender Jordan Clark reportedly swore at himself before umpire dissent free kick

Fremantle star Jordan Clark has reportedly told the club he had called himself a “f...ing idiot” when it was mistaken for umpire dissent in a major twist to an already controversial ending in their loss to Carlton.
Clark was penalised in the final 40 seconds of the game which resulted in a Matt Kennedy goal that sealed Fremantle’s first loss of the season.
The Herald Sun is reporting the defender had used the expression “you f…ing idiot, Jordan” in reference to himself for letting Matt Cottrell take a mark off the boot of teammate George Hewett.
It came at the same time teammates were pleading with the umpires that the Hewett kick was touched by defender James Aish, which has since been backed up by vision.
Cottrell would kick the goal to put Carlton in front before Kennedy kicked the sealer without the ball heading back to the middle.
The same report also states that the Dockers were upset about forward Jye Amiss not receiving free kicks during the games, while Carlton’s forwards were in marking contests.

AFL football boss Laura Kane has since backed the call made by umpire Alex Whetton, which iced the game for the Blues in the final minute.
“The rule is that the free kick after a goal is paid from the middle of the ground or where the free kick or the incident occurs, whatever is more disadvantageous to the offending team in this case Fremantle,” she said.
“We’ve been strong on dissent. We’ve been clear. We don’t see it often because players aren’t doing it and that’s a good thing.
“You can’t swear at umpires, it’s a rule but we don’t want to see that kind of behaviour.
“We’re comfortable with the dissent free kick being paid. It’s language I can’t use at 9am in the morning on Sunday on live TV.
“It is not appropriate we don’t want to see it and we’re comfortable with that second free kick being paid for dissent.”
Kane admitted though the umpires missed the touched kick which resulted in Cottrell’s goal that put Carlton in front.
“It was touched. The umpires missed that one,” Kane told Offsiders.
“As you see there with the replay, super slowmo, multiple different angles, different positioning of the cameras to where our umpires were positioned and it’s a tricky game to officiate, so they’ve missed that one but we can see clearly on the replay that it was touched.”
It is set to make former AFL umpire Michael Pell’s controversial and strange comments even more ludicrous.
Pell has caused an uproar after attacking Clark’s character in a rant on X (formerly twitter) after the game.
Fremantle fans have also launched a defence of Clark’s character after it was called into question by former umpire Pell, who is being investigated for allegedly supplying sensitive information on Brownlow Medal votes.
Pell was arrested over the allegations but has not been charged with any offence.
“The irony in all this is that I warned Jordan Clark in a Covid 14v14 nothing game when he was a spoilt brat and carrying on that he needed to stop abusing umpires,” Pell wrote on X.
“Guess he still hasn’t learnt. Stinky attitude and any wonder Geelong were happy to see the back of him.”
Pell has been universally slammed for the comments, with many fans pointing to his comments being ironic given his betting allegations.
Fremantle fans are even putting their money where their mouths are, with his playing worn kit up to $600 in the auction after the game.

Nope. Jackson was dead set awful. You disagree?
I think there are some serious expectations placed on him if we are calling him awful. I would say he was ok, not near his best. The midfield won or halved with them, that’s a team effort and cant have been all just Young and Fyfe

I think you're quite bias if you don't think Jackson was awful. How many mistimed jumps? Dropped marks? Out of position to help the defenders? What was he trying to do in the ruck contest in the Aish touched mark?

Honestly now.....he was awful

In 2015 I studied hard the umpiring statistics relating to Fremantle games.
The correlation between certain umpires and Fremantle games showed most probably umpiring bias against Fremantle.

The data was so strong that when Dalgleish, Stevic and Rosebury were announced as the official field umpires, for the 2015 Freo vs Hawks Prelim I was very vocal that the outcome of the game was predetermined by the AFL.

My beliefs (and I emphasise my beliefs) based on the numbers I had in front of me at the time, led to me understanding that the AFL gives preference to umpires who have biases that align with the desires of the AFL.
Furthermore, the umpiring bias against Fremantle in 2015 was not as obvious in the first half of the season. It was when Fremantle found themselves on top of the ladder winning their first 9 games of the season, that the pro-VFL agenda with the umpiring and Free Kicks against Fremantle became most obvious.

Below is what I posted prior to that 2015 PF vs Hawthorn;

I truly believe if this game was played on neutral ground with neutral umpiring, Fremantle would win.
But the desired result of this game has already been determined with the appointment of those three umpires.

In the last 2 years, Fremantle have lost 13 games. One or more of those three umpires have been involved in 12 of those losses.
The only loss where they were not involved, was the recent Port Adelaide loss where over half the Fremantle team was rested.
In contrast, for the same period there has been 20 games where none of those three umpires were involved, and Fremantle won all 20 games.

The statistics for Dalgleish show even at Subi home games, he strongly favours West Coast yet is strongly against Fremantle.

Stevic, well in the last three years (12 games) I can only find one game when Fremantle won the Free Kicks in a game with him and that was vs Adelaide (12-11). His Free Kick avgs in the last two years when Fremantle plays a VIC team is 15 Frees For vs 24 Against.

Rosebury, unfortunately in my opinion is the worst out of the three. He paid the 50m penalty against Luke McPharlin in the 2013 GF that wrongly gifted Buddy Franklin a goal (that was one of many of his poor decisions in that game). Fremantle have lost 8 of the 12 games in which he has umpired in the last 2 years.

Statistically speaking, coincidentally or not, I can not find any umpires that have been more related to recent Fremantle losses than these three.

Interesting that the retirement of Dalgleish coincided with the worst 2 years the Eagles have ever had.

OMG I hope this is true about Clark.

It certainly didn’t seem so based off nothing but footage. Just looks like he turns directly at the umpire and says something.

Release the audio AFL!
They wont if thats what he did say.

Its only if it paints them in the "right light" eg the freo nm game that audio gets released

Or, hear me out, maybe people just have a different opinion rather than "searching for likes". Taberner had 1 score involvement the whole game: his goal. This is a theme for him: when he's not scoring, he's not involved.

The idea that we're holding a key fwd to the standard of "can he basically do what Brennan Cox did against Brisbane" is ridiculous (and I'm not sure he even passes that test). The bone I'll throw Tabs is that he's a bit less washed than I thought he was, but he's 1 of the weak links.

The comparison btwn your thoughts on Tabs vs others is quite telling. Jackson is being held to "if you get beat by 1 of the most promising rucks in the game, you're suddenly pathetic" (as if he didn't win the ball frequently but just dropped some marks and made a poor decision late). Brayshaw is "let's forget everything else you did positively, your kicking was poor so let's throw the rest out the window". Amiss had a poor game in his own right, but at least he's being held to a real standard here.

Taberner meanwhile is "can you be grand final Billy Frampton" (and given Weitering's impact on the game despite poor ball use, I think the answer was no). If you're gonna be scathing on Jackson, you can't be treating Tabs with kiddy gloves.

So he had no impact outside those specific moments? I struggle to understand how it can be classed as awful or pathetic unless he’s expected to dominate and be best on every game. He still contributed, had 4 score involvement, only 2 clangers, 5 clearances.

I think pathetic is unbelievably harsh and awful only if you rate against an individual players talent

I just heard this as well, if that's the case that's an even worse decision. The club should ask for a proper statement from the umpires.

HAHAHA what a pisstake from Clark lol.

"Fremantle defender Jordan Clark was penalised for dissent against Carlton after using the expression “f***ing idiot” but has told the club he was berating himself for allowing opponent Matthew Cottrell to mark.

This masthead understands Dockers players had been irate that key forward Jy Amiss had not received free kicks across the game while Carlton forwards had been rewarded in marking contests.

Clark allowed Cottrell to mark after George Hewett’s kick was sent forward, with the AFL on Sunday admitting their umpires missed the ball hitting James Aish’s forearm.

It was after that goal that Clark has told friends he uttered the expression “You f***ing idiot, Jordan”."

Funny how in the article Pell admits to abusing Clark by calling him a "spoilt brat"
