Carlton peeps, come on, no one on here wants your advice, stay out

Edit: holy **** Carlton people, how can you think anyone here wants your input on umpires or anything to do with the game. Stay out or get pointed

So he had no impact outside those specific moments? I struggle to understand how it can be classed as awful or pathetic unless he’s expected to dominate and be best on every game. He still contributed, had 4 score involvement, only 2 clangers, 5 clearances.

I think pathetic is unbelievably harsh and awful only if you rate against an individual players talent
He had no impact, that is correct. I don't expect him to dominate, but I expect him to to take more marks than dropping them. I expect him to time his jumps better in the ruck and I definitely expect him to do a lot better in the ruck contest that lead to Cottrells mark.

Would you like to discuss Brayshaws game, or is he also off limits on this board?

I nearly brought up Brayshaw but couldn’t be bothered because it’s the same thing. It’s a miracle the game was as close as it was considering clearly only a couple of players in the middle had any impact and had to carry the pathetic and awful Jackson and Brayshaw

Reckon this loss could really galvanise the group for the rest of the season.

I hope internally it is really framed as what we could have done better to win a game we put ourselves in a position to win, rather than anything involving the umpires.
Anyway it could really work as an us against them (the AFL/rest of the comp) motivator going forward.
I hope it does that instead of fracturing it

this would not have helped

"I think it was against 'Clarky' (Jordan Clark). I'll have to dig a little bit deeper, but we should have just got on with it, even if they weren't happy with the call before," Longmuir said.

Stunning and brave of you to single out Tabs while completely ignoring Jacksons pathetic performance, Brayshaws butchery of the ball and Amiss getting one who kick in a half of football

Maybe open your eyes instead of searching for likes by using Tabs as bait yeah?
Tabs was not the worst yesterday but surely you can see he has no upside left, where as the others most certainly do.
Tabs is out as soon as Darcy is back and if Voss isn’t injured and Darcy doesn’t get up this week, I think Voss will come in for Tabs.

I agree with this, not necessarily the Voss bit, but absolutely he'll come out for Darcy.

Brayshaw was a vital cog for us getting ascendency in that game. Players who slog their guts out getting to the right spots and contesting the ball continuously are going to fatigue and be less than perfect. It’s classic supporters folloy to expect otherwise.

Wasn’t the worst? He got annihilated by Weitering, outright losing two 1v1 marking contests and did almost nothing outside one single moment in the game. I mean, Draper was comfortably the worst I suppose but I’m not sure many others had less impact than Tabs

Interesting reply from a mod. Guess you rate Brayshaws ineffective kicks higher than me, then again you thought Johnson had a decent game

If you can find where I said decent I’m all ears?

How else is a mod supposed to reply? Completely devoid of all emotion and flavour?

Draper wasn’t even close to the worst. He was fantastic in the first half
I was being conciliatory about Tabs. He was in our bottom 3 and bar injuries won’t play again. The game has gone way past him.

Not sure about Draper…he was in the contests. As a new kid that’s all you can ask. Some of the time Curnow was getting the ball, Pearce was on him

Any chance your crankiness might effect what you take in and what you don’t (and what emphasis you place on it)?

Draper got pantsed and probably didn’t win or even half more than 1 1v1 contest. That’s too be expected given the role given and not really his fault but he was worst on ground comfortably IMO

With better thread titles (obviously not serious)

Well, in all honesty, how did you rate Brayshaws game?
I thought his ground ball chase downs were fantastic and massive in how the midfield player and his kicking was awful and a reason the last in particular went as bad as it did. His kicking in the last had a big hand in losing the game but we aren’t in it without his ground work

I think you're quite bias if you don't think Jackson was awful. How many mistimed jumps? Dropped marks? Out of position to help the defenders? What was he trying to do in the ruck contest in the Aish touched mark?

Honestly now.....he was awful
Jackson was awful.
Do you feel better now?
He’s a premiership player, yes, but he’s only 22.
Geez there are some ridiculous expectations being placed on our young KPs

Playing ammos we had a team mate nicknamed 'Tosser'. We once got a 50m penalty when one of  our players was calling out "Tosser, Tosser!" to get his attention and the umpire thought it was was the opposition calling him that lol.
Mate if he’s the guy i knew at the Raiders the nick name was absolutely spot on.

Wow
The knives come out pretty quick

That’s some pretty fickle supporting right there .
Those 2 have been instrumental in Freos 3 wins now they are pathetic ?
Expected more tbh Snuff
