I just went to look at my template after posted your original comment and felt as though they might have been a bit long in terms of how far they come down the leg, rather than inseam.

That might be the case, but you assume that the crotch of the shorts would come up to the groin, so they still read as footy shorts. Your template is on the slender and elongated side anyway, so it doesn't look out of place the way it is. It's internally consistent.

An oldie, but was widely used.

Yeah fair enough, i'd say they're about the same or slightly longer than the YI rugby shorts.

However, they don't immediately look as bad because it's a flat template.

Back then, good. Now, really bad.

Dude, i'm not sure how much clearer I can make this. If you're using a realistic template, proportion problems will stand out more. Back then nobody was pretending that the templates we were using were realistic.

If a 3 year old draws a picture of a car in crayon, it's going to be out of proportion but nobody is going to care because it's going to read as a car in the medium it's drawn in according to the skill of the artist. If a talented artist draws a hyperrealistic version of the same car in the same proportions that the 3yo did, it's going to look really off.

Hey, all I said was that the template back then looked good to us and now it doesn’t. That was it. No comparisons. Just a statement on how it looked then and now.

Final Team List:

El_Scorcho - Adelaide Druids
Freight Train - Sydney Laochra

Everyone has done really well to get their entries in, much better than I was expecting. Just waiting on entry submissions and team names from Bacon Warrior Bryce_Jersey17 and Not Again , but I know Not Again is almost done.

Also Spanna_ if you've had some luck shortening your shorts that'd be great.
