Review Geelong + Chris Scott make another Prelim at Ports expense

I am just constantly in awe of this club, I was worried like many that straight sets was a likely path for us, I had said if Danger burned for a few games we could also maybe win a flag..
But in no way did I expect that, simply incredible, ruthless and professional.

Most pleasing things for me were how well our raft of first final gamers played, but also just how happy and playing for each other the entire group was.

****... We could just win 2 more games this year yet

PF at Cattery... All is possible, especially if we get an inter-state team at the G for GF. Game on

For some reason the media just don't focus on Geelong and seem to lack the capacity to provide any kind of real analysis.
All week we hear about every team's strengths and capabilities - individual players highlighted. Turn to Geelong - they just stammer something out about Danger and maybe Cameron. That's it. Maybe Port thought the same. Don't worry about anyone else. They only have two players to worry about; forget about everyone else.
We're old news, no one wants it. Geelong good? Also, water wet

Stengle AND Holmes not AA? Both absolutely ****ing dominated tonight.

Hell Yes.

Whatever; I said earlier in the week that I hoped Stengle's snub (the little genius wasn't even nominated for a goal of the year nomination, let alone the egregious AA snub) would inspire him to a great Finals series.

Well, he was freakin' phenomenal tonight. I love him, one of my all-time faves, and I've been watching a fair while.

Want to call out that I just had one of the best footy experiences of my life.

Forget the on field, nothing to do with that.

I went as a lone soldier in a high up stand. Sat down next to a random striker and mentioned the beer line kept me out. Didn't hesitate, gave me one of his. Great chat about Ports relative strengths and weaknesses.

Guy sits on the other side of me, great chat about his first goal scorer (Stengle) and that getting up, talked about structure etc for ages. Fantastic bloke. He tells me he's leaving at 3 quarter time but starts chatting about the usual sack Hinkley and we keep talking well into the 4th.

This is a game where we absolutely thrashed them.

Whatever is said about them, they are good football people
Huge respect for Port supporters. Have sat with them a few times in Adelaide and they were all gracious in defeat and humble in victory. Can’t say the same for Adelaide supporters.

I reckon if you took every teen movie from the 80s and extracted images of every school bully, conceited sports rival, and evil ex-boyfriend and trained an AI image generater on them, it'd produce Shannon Neale's mugshot. Good player, and undoubtedly a terrific human being, but jeez he looks villainous.

Can’t believe this question - do Stewart and SDK get back in the side??

And assuming the answer is yes (of course), who goes out???

I think Stewart gets in very easily but SDK? Blitz back and Stanley ruck is purring at the moment. Do you mess with that if everyone else stays fit? I would say no

Yeah jeez it's incredible.

His attitude is great, too. Never doubts his ability. Just makes a decision and blasts them.

Can kick a bit better than Danger though, which is nice
So are we saying he's like Dangerfield but with better kicking Warhorse

Edit: not sure of I tagged the right guy here so flag it not

I probably shouldn't single him out because he had a lot of team mates that were also horrendous. But...

I've been saying all year that there's just no way Port can win a flag with Ratugloea in the side. I stand by that one.

Throw Dixon in that pile too. My 95 year old nana runs faster when the nursing home says it's time for Bingo.

The tears :grinv1:

It’s beautiful, those salty tears taste delicious 🤤 👋👍👏

Incredible performance. Don’t think too many saw that coming.

To see our midfield come out on top was particularly pleasing. Holmes, Bowes, Bruhn and Atkins were phenomenal. As was Paddy but we know what he can do.

Humphries is already a star. His composure is incredible.

Could bang on for another 100 lines but can’t be bothered. Just soaking it up.

I did bang on for 100 lines, and yet I somehow failed to cite the influence of Atkins. He was unyielding.

Bews and Mullins?
The BIG question is what happens if Hawk kicks 6 and Cam Guthrie has 30 possies in the magoos tomorrow?

Bews will make way for Stewart, that's the obvious one. Not sure about the other change. If Mullin doesn't get up, that settles that, but otherwise I think it'll be either 2E or Dunc.
