Heard that Bissett's name has cropped up again at Anakie (no doubt a 12 month appointment as per usual) and that Barry & Sharkey O'Toole are front runners for job as joint coaches at Corio. Any truth Devils ?

Dont get to excited shinzig, seen a few wrfl games this season and have to say id rather sit around with a javelin in my eye.....but saying that the players centrals have signed are good players, not out outstanding but good....its not a strong league anymore, top 3 teams spotty, hoppers, colts no one gets near them, has been that way since i can remember....

Dissapointing to see dave kennedy move on, obviously good mates with smith at winch...[/quote

Ok i will tell you a bit about the players they have signed!! A ruckmen who is dual best and fairest winner at glen orden with vice like hands and the skills of a oustanding midfielder on both left and right!!! The 2 Vice captains who are both on ballers! 1 is a long kicking left footer tough as nails who is the current best and fairest at GO and came top 10 in the league!! loves the hard stuff! The other is one of the most courageous on baller who is always in and under!! 2 time MVP at Glen Orden. They have signed their co captains 1 who is a full forward who has probably kicked around 500 goals in the wrfl(6years) who will most likely have the strongest hands in the comp along with the ruckmen they signed!! Big unit also with unbelievable skills on both sides who also loves the hard stuff and can back it up too!! feel sorry for the gdfl defenders next year!!! the other captain is 50/50 on whether he is playing!! Injury cut short his year and is still struggling with it!! Also expect a few others to follow them!! 1 in particular is another B&f winner there!! All of them with experience in the vfl ranks!! so they should go OK

Strewth sinamn with the calibre of players you've just mentioned there im bewildered as to how Glenordan have only won about 5 games in the last 3 years!!!

Its great for Werribee to have these stars playing next year, but you never mentioned a backman in that lot and that is their biggest problem and why they wont finish top 3. Their backline is crap and with Kennedy leaving its going to be worse. You need a solid defence.

Boofa's a good player and has kicked bags against us on a number of occassions but there is no way he ahs 500 goals in 6 years. I think he kicked 25 or 30 this year (but did play back a bit). In his time in Div 2 he kicked 100 once and probably kicked 50-80 most years. In Div 1 I dont think he has kicked a 50 in the last 3 years.

The names that I have been told are going are all quality players. Glenorden havnt been strong in Div 1 but these blokes have been there best players.

They had about 10 good players and then it dropped off very very sharply after that!!! As they say you are only as good as your worst player!! There worst player would struggle to get a game in any ones side in the gdfl but they could only work with what they had!! Plus look at the quality of teams in the divy 1 top half!! Gdfl teams would also get smashed week in week out against the top teams. I think Glen orden beat Bell Post by 90 points pre season!! Have you watched a WRFL div1 game?????

Oops sorry bout that its meant to be seven years! And about the total(5oo goals) its would probably be very close to that so I just rounded it up to make it interesting reading!! Lets not get technical coz at the end of the day all i was trying to get across is that he is a pretty good player!!

Originally from Newport so ive seen a bit of the wrfl. Watched the spotty vs colts granny last year that had the biggest fight ive ever seen after the game!! And watched a spotty vs albion earlier this year. Spotty and colts would be nearly as good as any local team going round and hoppers are pretty good but it drops sharply from there. Dont think East Geelong Thomson or Bell Post would get killed by wrfl sides and practice matches dont mean anything anyway.

Ruck - Nathan Lovell: Good footballer who may push Hards out of the team. Is all of the above, but Leatch will have a hard time getting him to train. 30+, and getting lazier.

FF - Craig Rosenweig, again all of the above who has dominated Div 2, and held his own in the top flight. Will do well in this league if comes with the right attitude.

Left footer, Travis Johns. Certainly loves the weights, to a point where he should be shwabbed! Used to be a skinny wingman, now a ball of muscle and is prepared to use it. Lovely long left foot kick.

Captain - Brad Bunworth, good skills, runs all day and kicks goals. BUT his back is knackered. May not play again. Only about 24

Other onballer maybe Kurt Titze. Silky, runs both ways.

Doubt whether Glen Orden will let them all go, as it would mean they would fold.

Hows that sinamn? Am I close to the money?

Pretty much spot on mate!!! Although i dont agree with the comment about Glen orden folding!! I received an email from them the other day saying they have recruited a few and that they signed a coach! Shayne Rayment(rambo) Bunny will play even if it means he will have to have the op first but ur right his back is F***ed. Lovell will train!! Anyone would find it hard to train after getting embarrassed each week. Trust me knowing the boys i have not seen them this excited about a pre season in at least 5 years> Any hint on how you know so much about them?? Oh they are all under 30 too!!!

I'm coaching the 2nds at BPH. Also doing a mentor/ specialist coaching role on training nights.

hey spider36 just looking through your posts and i think that it is pretty stupid to come on this forum and tell every one about you coaching another club. It is not a good thing although it is honest somethings should be keep between club and etc..player, coach, president, canteen lady. Know i don't know you personally and i do not have much of an idea of football (the game it's self) and how you run a football & netball club but i do have this (“The greater the loyalty of a group toward the group, the greater is the motivation among the members to achieve the goals of the group, and the greater the probability that the group will achieve its goals.”) it is called LOYALTY!!! cause i do not know the situation i might sound harsh or even rude, but i have had other things in life that are hard or i have had to much and wanted to try something else but at the end of the day i stay to finish the job or what ever the task is cause that is a challenge that not everyone can say they have done is been LOYAL. Do not take offence to this, something you have to live with, so good luck with what the future holds

none taken macromantic..you do know I'm from Bell Post Hill originally?
You must also know i finished as pres last season(2008). as for loyalty, as seems to be your key word, think 11 years at Belmont may qualify. played my juniors at BPH, 5 years of seniors there...then went out into the big wide world. never wanted to be a president, but did it coz no one else would...if you had read all my posts, i have stated all along i was always a coach and not a pres and i stand by that...harsh, probably not, rude maybe...you are entitled to your opinion, but if players/coaches dont ever have to be loyal, why should anyone else? Been away for 14 years, just time to go home...

Boofa will be good for about 60 goals I'm tipping. GDFL definately better than WRFL divy 2 but under Divy 1 as a whole comp. Glenorden wouldn't have beat East Geelong, Bell Post or Thompson last year IMO. I also rate Kurt, a very handy pick up. Look forward to having a few frothies with Boofa, Johnsy and Kurt when they head down our way. Kitchen and Boof in same forward line?

Sounds like only the brisbane lions have done better in the off season

Iordanis was clearly centrals best player when Winch played them. I rate him. you obviously don't Mabukka?
You must be kidding me.This bloke was one of the most over rated blokes at centrals this year.from the games i saw.Could not get up enough speed running down hill. How many times did you see him play skanky. He wont get a game next season in their best side.Lovell will definately push Hardingham out,way too mobile.Hards will be coming off the pine for his $300 next year.Anyone jumped off the centrals train Wheely, you seem to know more than I.

I've seen him play more games than you champ. as i said earlier, was easily centrals best when winch played them and beat them towards the end of the year. yes he's slow, but reads the play well and IMO is a good player who might not have played at his best this year. I still rate him.:D

matt murphy resigned from belmont. anyone can comfirm
was in geelong for the weekend and heard that murphy has resigned. Apparently never put pen to paper for the second year to coach. Belmont seem to be in disarry off field. Not having a go at spider, he has been great for the club. He is entitled to be proud of what he has done for belmont. Others have to step up and do their bit if they want the club to keep going. Not one or two but 10 or a dozen people, otherwise they could be in a bit of trouble to keep going.

so much for centrals so-called plether of young talent from the under 18's.

Yeah, I agree with you Kooley. The Centurions were making very good progress to set themselves up for years to come. Leatch always spoke of his desire to blood the youngsters, send the oldies (Fastuca, Pace, Beck etc) to the two's, add some quality here and there and go forward. With these incoming blokes, plus maybe a bloke called Russo as well, it could really harm the developing jnrs.
But on the flip side, if all gels well, then a top 4 beckons.
