I thought that blurb you posted yesterday when St Kilda called themselves one of the proudest clubs in existence was too much lol. I can only imagine that the brains trust that is Ross Lyon and SOS came together to form a thought that they should start being an arrogant club. Good luck with that.

In fairness - Ross's comments were just a thinly veiled swipe at Geelong, and a roundabout way of furthering the ingrained "victim mentality" at that dump.

Absolutely. The AFL has complicated things for clubs and destroyed the career paths of some very good footy people. We want to keep our best minds in the game. The likes of Sam Docherty earlier espoused a desire to coach, yet in recent times has been less commital about the prospects. Very basic money does not keep those quality people in “AFL Land”.

Their fascination with “equality” is ludicrous. While there needs to be limits, clubs should be entitled to employ good people at a competitive rate if they have the financial means. There are so many aspects of the game which are far from equal that are of their creation, yet the AFL draw the line at wages of coaching and support staff.
