It's not that so much as every time I see that back a length ball on or outside off, I start sweating: is this the one, the one where instead of carting it with his favourite shot through backward point or plundering it between the slips or over gully, he plants it squarely in gully's chest?

He's able to bat within himself. He's able to bat explosively. He just makes me nervous that he could throw it all away at any given time, from 1 off 1 to 208 off 120.

And there’s that ball under his armpit on leg stump that he has trouble with. He likes to hit the ball. He rides his luck. Hopefully he’s made a 100 before he throws it all away.

Very entertaining session. Sam won't get away with that all the time, but well worth watching. Expect Jadeja to bowl earlier in the 2nd dig.
