Omg

Detectives from the Maroochydore Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU) are appealing for public assistance in relation to an alleged incident on November 30.

It will be alleged a 23-year-old Townsville man attended Mooloolaba Beach with a teenage girl between 10:30pm and 1am on December 1, when he assaulted her and pushed her into the ocean.

The man was charged with one count of rape and contravening an order about information necessary to access information stored electronically.

He is due to reappear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on February 24.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or approached the man and the girl at the time to come forward.

What's going on in Logan? A 36yo man has been charged with attempted murder after setting a woman on fire.

Logan isn’t a very nice area. Noted for high crime rate, especially youth crime.
36 is not exactly a youth. but given my understanding of the suburb he may have a couple of kids in their teens

What sort of life do these kids have living with a male has such poor anger control that he would set fire to another person?

And what were is parents like that he would consider this action as a resolution to his problems?

I know it wasn’t youth crime, but Logan is generally not a desirable address.

I watched Dear Zachary last night and it was so touching. Such a tragic story about a beautiful family. Be warned - if you watch it have a box of tissues handy!

Update on the Tallebudgera shooting:

Police allege Linley Anyos, 33, was shot in the southern suburb of Tallebudgera on January 8.

Inspector Mooney said a 49-year-old man who police deemed a “person of interest” had been arrested in Victoria on unrelated weapons charges.

The Queensland State Emergency Service helped police find a modified double-barrel shotgun and spent cartridge near the scene, both of which are being analysed.

Ms Anyos has had parts of organs removed from her body, but she has now been moved from the intensive care unit of Gold Coast University Hospital to a ward and is in a stable condition.

Police say the shotgun in question was unlicensed.

Well, here's some information.
Justice is served when someone breaks into your home and they end up injured, in custody or dead.

If he'd broken in bare handed, you might have questions, but take a deadly weapon in, and.....consequences.
People are not going to say " excuse me sir , why are you in my house with a machete " they either run or attack.

$3.5 million as bail?
That's okay, you can have it.
I'm off.

So if i want to join some bullshit social media , i probably need two step verification, but the bail system uses an old paperwork system.
They guy in the rehab centre is meant to know the judge's signature? is it hard to forge a stamp?

Just a database and a serial number would fix it.
Show document , type in number, check that details match.

Don't investigate, just do it.

Sounds like the only follow on action should be the home owner suing the guys estate for the cost of cleaning
/repairing the house and for any losses in income etc.

Someone breaks in armed or not, if you feel in fear and the only way you can confidently remove the threat is to kill them, it should be encouraged. Home-owners would have no idea what skills in unarmed combat the intruder had.

Fantastic news that someone has been arrested over that cold case- where an intruder r*ped a Grandmother in her own home not once but again two years later.

Just horrendous but looks like DNA caught up with him. Rot you piece of filth.

That SOB over in the UK who went on that rampage, murdering three young kids got 52 years in prison.

I've never really been a big believer in the whole "pure evil" type look on a person- hell Adrian Bayley looks like a normal enough man imo. But seeing this teenagers mug shot on the news yesterday gave me absolute chills. Evil personified. Another one who can rot.

Does anyone know if surety payment has to be made if minors are given bail? Who pays it? Please don't tell me the taxpayer. You hear of minors receiving bail on many, dozens, even scores, occasionally hundreds of times. Payment should be part of the process; not from me, but from the appointed guardian, if not parents.

Oh, and find a way to prohibit young offenders from having access to a mobile phone. (Even as I'm typing this I know how futile it is :( )
