Some players are natural goal kickers, others are not. Those that are reliable goal kickers should be rotated through the forward line, those that aren't should be banned from the forward line altogether.

grant is a way more reliable kick for goal than what bowden is. and birss should definately be in that group of reliable shots for goal.

Agree about Birss, but Grant and Bowden are as bad as each other. Bowden is particularly bad if he is on the move.

Still, they would all do better if their shots were not always taken from acute angles.

bowdos kicking for goal is not bad. in 03 he kicked 22/5 and in 04 he kicked 21/16

I thinks its just that when he kicks it wrong, its really wrong... doesnt matter if hes close or whatever, it just goes really wide. however he is just as likely to dob them from 45 on a tight angle.

and he dosnt have this mental thing about kicking for goal that some of our players seem to have.

Murphy missed two shots in the last quarter he should have made.

Having said that I'd just about play him as a forward next week.

grants strike rate is 54% over 15 years of footy...nearly 500 goals. you don't foget how too kick goals - bowden has never been taught.
