Just hearing a big man from the GC had nose beers in his system before a game

Gold Coast forward Brayden Crossley is under investigation by the Australian Sport Anti-Doping Authority after returning a positive drug test following a NEAFL game in May.

The 19-year-old tested positive after the Gold Coast reserves played Sydney at Metricon Stadium on May 25 and faces a potential four-year ban if found guilty of a doping violation.

Imagine working your ass off to make it to top level, and then still get on the drugs. Is there something really unconvinving about these education programs or is it just young people making young people mistakes?

The problem is they start before they make it to the top level but there is no testing before they get there.

Yes some may be under the legal age of 18 to be tested but as a parent l would have no problem giving permission to test my son or daughter.

Does that mean it’s his 3rd positive test, or has that rule changed. I thought they got a couple of warnings?

The ‘strikes’ thing is under the illicit drugs code ...

... cocaine on gameday comes under the performance enhancing code.

{Yawn} It's coke ffs. Back the fu** up and let the kid play.

4 years, he'd get less if the police caught him in the act!

Yeah, imagine being being given north of $200k as a 19 year old to play footy at the highest level, most likely living out a boyhood dream in the process.
Then imagine being told you would compromise your incredibly fortunate position by partaking in recreational drug use.
Literally all you have to do is not snort anything illegal up your nose. You can still drink, smoke, bang metre maids and whatever else you'd like in your free time and keep your career in tact. Just don't do the drugs man.

Should be a 6 year penalty for stupidity.

And the youth excuse doesn't fly. They are educated better than most young men in the same age bracket in every other industry.

Here's Exhibit A of just how irrelevent Gold Coast are for Gil and his cronies. This has been up for around 18 hours and is still on the first page. Imagine how many pages it would be if it was a player from Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon.........

Not sure it'd be such a big deal if it was Collingwood. Most of us would shrug our shoulders and think " probably needs to do it just to get through a day with Bucks in charge"

His Dad has said he wouldn’t do drugs and has denied snorting cocaine, saying “my son doesn’t have the ability to lie”.

Imagine using that as a defence in court.

He's got me convinced......innocent

Surely the players management has told no-one to speak, otherwise they just sound like idiots. Most parents wouldn't know what their kids are getting stuck into on a weekly occurrence
