Is it Nicksy making the decisions or is it the one constant that we’ve had at the club in the past few years since this “older guys over younger guys” selection/game strategy policy seems to have been the go to..

That one constant being Roo..

The bloke who, when providing special commenting on a game, when sloane/laird/keays are all in at the CB says “all the guns are in there for this one”..

This “lets play the most experienced regardless of form” policy at the club has been around longer than Nicksy…

I reckon it pre-dates Roo becoming director of football as well.

But either way it has been a cornerstone of our club for the last 15 years.

Murray is an actual defender... even if his disposal isn't as good. He can spoil for starters.

I don't see any point persisting with Frampton because he can't defend.

We may as well try anyone else.

I was hoping to use Berg in defence too, but the club unfortunately won't.
Murray has a long way to go as a defender as well. Saw him lose a few 1v1 battles in the Sanfl where he was a bit lost.

Has a good leap on him though.

Didn't we used to say that about yellow? Or was yellow the good one?
In Yellow we beat St Kilda last year, coming from behind. The game Mackay bumped Hunter

Unsure of any bad beatings or heart break losses in Yellow. Looks better too.

Ever since Buddy beat us in the 2007 Elimination Final, I can not remember one happy memory in red

To the extent I had us to win in my tips and changed as soon as I saw us wearing Dreaded Red just before the bounce. images%20(4).jpg

Something weird happened with that Jones nutmeg.

I've watched it back, and it's like everyone stops for a half second expecting an umpires whistle, like they've heard the umpire say something.

Still a dumb error.
"Nutmeg", ha! Yes, that was it.
I wondered about that.
It clears the players in front of him and he appears to be caught unprepared.
Like slips' fieldsman in cricket, AFL footballers should always expect the ball is coming to/at them.

It suggests to me that Jones is not composed/calm.
#9 in the 2018 Draft, fmd :grimacing:.

Also Dreaded Red.

Is there one good memory with us wearing a red jumper?

Plenty of bad losses.

Not only that, it clashed with Essendon’s jumper. So it doesn’t even serve a practical purpose.

How many away strips have we had now? It must be getting close to 15 or 20. And every single one of them has been a pile of dog shit.

Just wear the traditional strip with white shorts you ****ing clueless greedy pigheaded marketing dipshits.

Yeah, this. He'll be better after another hit-out, as well.

Several posters wanted him to return via a game or two in the SANFL .
They're pretty quiet now, but.
But what's up with his last kick? Did he miss kick it or has he lost a few meters? He would have easily made the distance in years past....

It's been said that Premiership Teams are based on DEF .....and that is our big weakness ATM .....there was the continuing skill errors across the team, but lets look at the key factors moving fwd

1. Our KPD positions are a big issue .....Butts form is terrible, 2 weeks in a row, where his inability to compete in the air, and anicipate the incoming play, has been a huge problem

Frampton, the better of the 2 KPD ....that's if you are being truly objective .....our alternatives are limited, we desperately need McAsey to standup

2. ROB ....OK, I've prattled on a lot the last couple of years .....I had hoped ROB could have been a Ben McEvoy player, negating Ruckman, but strong around the ground ....at 27, he has regressed from 3 years ago ....he's not going to be part of any future success

EASILY beaten at ruck contests .....his comical attemps to juggle marks, was only surpassed by the ease with which opponents were able to knock him off balance ....that Draper goal, in the last qtr, was amatuerish, and showed ROB's inability to sum up the situation

Whilst ROB is a very intelligent man .....he is the epitome of a dumb footballer .....FFS drop him !

3. Sloane was shot last year .....Crouch only 64% TOG .....with so many kids, can we afford a senior player spending so much time on the bench ....meaning kids are having to spend higher TOG than they should
Spot on Wayne.:thumbsu:

This strategy will keep us in an endless rebuild. Nick's doesn't trust youth, or I should say the club doesn't trust youth. I feel they don't instill confidence in young players and often set them up to fail. By rewarding form we may get some beltings but we will also get some great wins we aren't currently getting. What nicks is currently doing will get him sacked.
Blight recognized this dilemma.

If McDermott, McGuiness and Jarman are in the building the pressure to play them - from outside and within - would have been horrendous.

Yep, compare that to our current list "management"

We get rid of Keith for a bag of chips whilst all our other KPD are all young.
Keep Sloane/Crouch/Keays/Laird that play in the same part of the ground and all have the same disposal problems.

Blight would have gone KerrrBang to Sloane and Crouch, give the keys to our young mids and tell them its time to shine.

Isn't that a good thing the kids are spending more time on the ground?

The thing I'm most disappointed with is the below. Sloane has taken up all the CBAs from Schoenberg. Schoenberg gets the dregs when Keays or Laird aren't in there. He should be in there 80% of the time like in the showdown

What happened to Sloane playing forward this year?

Centre clearances:
Rd1: 9-16
Rd2: 12-11
Rd3: 13-10
Rd4: 15-16

That tells me we aren't losing anything with Schoenberg in the middle, so why not give him the experience?

Turnovers, Clangers, a lot not under real pressure don't come into that measure?

Time for Schoey to get his confidence back in the Snaffle.

Berry and Hately need to be rewarded for their Snaffle form....Schoenberg and one of Crouch/Sloane back to the Snaffle to find their best form.

Memo marketing. Here‘s our new away outfit. This will be our away outfit until the year 3033.

Now fu** off, you are all fired.

It really struck me - there has been a LOT of changes to our list since this photo!
I can see at least 7 players there gone from the club...

What's the numbers in that table? Is that stoppage attendance in general?
There's not 90 or so centre bounces per game...
