Wow, didn't realise it was that close! I'm guessing Laird and Keays had most of them?
You could be excused for thinking that they had a lot more: they were much cleaner. I was really annoyed at watching Shiel running around by himself in the first half.

I was also puzzled by a change in our approach in the first half this week. Normally, we are in there fighting for the ball, tackling, and the oppo give one more effort than us and get the ball away. This week, watching on TV, I lost count of the number of times the frame showed the ball on the ground surrounded by three oppo midfielders who auctioned it off and did as they pleased. Where were our players? Normally, one would have expected one of our guys to be rushing in there attacking the ball/oppo: there was plenty of time; what was going on? This was fixed up in the second half.

There was some of this around the ground also, with our players refusing to attack the ball and just sitting off. Too much corralling and not enough aggression too.

Have a spell pal.

Langford has finished top 10 in our B&F the last two seasons, he’s quite comfortably in our best 10 players.

AMT not a significant out? Please.

Even if you want to cancel out Merrett for Seedsman, Stringer is just as important, that’s a massive out for us.

Stewart is our number 1 key defender.

We were massively undermanned, if you can’t admit that then I feel sorry for you.
And they reckon South Australians are behind the times

I agree on AMT if he was back to his form and was injured but not at his current shape so he isn't a significant out, he is equivalent with someone who has been dropped on form so you could have played him but chose not too.

Steward....lol, Langford....lol. But agree on Stringer and Merrett so both teams weren't massively undermanned.

Your deluded pal

There were many good things in the game, to go with our howlers.

First, Sholl cooly slotting the goal immediately after being heavily bumped. This was unexpected and a promising sign.
He was really shaken by the bump, but that was only evident immediately after the goal.

Second, Hinge getting the ball and relentlessly charging through the pack to lace it out to Tex. We need more of this aggression.

Third, Cook laying a huge bump on an oppo in the last. I had no idea that this was in him and long may it continue.

Yes but looks like some fun and games in the Collingwood votes this round to get Daicos in the mix. In a West Coast win:

McGovern 5+5
Rioli 4+3
Daicos 0-4
Crisp 0-3
Barrass 1-1
Mihocek 2-0
Grundy 0-2

(the last 3 either of them could be 1-1, 2-0, 0-2)

So one of the coaches had Daicos second best on ground. The other didn't have as top 5.
I actually thought Nick's brother Josh had a far more impactive game than Nick.

What about the excellent field kicking and kick into the corridor, the inside 50m entries were also very good beside the last 10 minutes of the 4th quarter were we reverted back to bombing them inside 50 and the defenders just intercepted them, sign of what we did against Collingwood for the entire game.

His deluded pal?
Sounds like most of Bigfooty..

Incidentally, does anyone remember the time that Marty spent weeks arguing about how good different players were on the Geelong board?

Ugly: mchenrys snap.
He just doesn't have it I'm afraid. His skills are pretty ordinary at best. All he brings is energy and enthusiasm. Not sure why he continues to get games but guys like Cook and Pedlar get one opportunity and are then made sub.

At least this time when he snapped for goal he kicked it on the right side of the footy.

Umm what??

He has had one game at AFL level - and played as a HF, he played SANFL yesterday and picked up 17 disposals 2 clearances and 6 inside 50s - in the internal trial against Norwood he dominated and kicked multiple goals. He may not yet have the fitness to play AFL midfield but to say "average at best " is bollocks
Clearly you didn’t read my post or watch any of the SANFL games.

This weird obsession with Pedlar is bizarre….he’s going ok in the SANFL but nowhere near ready for AFL.

And yes….his disposal is very average.

Watched the replay and Crouch's offensive game was better than I remembered; 9 score involvements, 1 goal assist, 5 clearances and clean with his disposal. However, offering absolutely nothing defensively whatsoever. I remember in 2020 his defensive game completely fell away as well and was dropped for it; one of the first games he returns for against the Giants he has 14 tackles and was BOG. Keays and Laird can't be expected to do all the heavy lifting defensively, we need others stepping up. Given Berry's recent SANFL form where he has been good offensively and defensively that has to be rewarded, our midfield needs it.

Our ability to transition the ball from D50 to F50 has been good this year, but we can't expect to lose centre clearances that badly and be winning many games.
But come selection night when the change isn’t made what will your position be?

You should actually feel sorry for us, he posts on our board

The club is trying their best to make the very high end draft pick spent on McHenry work. Time to give up the charade.

This strategy will keep us in an endless rebuild. Nick's doesn't trust youth, or I should say the club doesn't trust youth. I feel they don't instill confidence in young players and often set them up to fail. By rewarding form we may get some beltings but we will also get some great wins we aren't currently getting. What nicks is currently doing will get him sacked.
