I dont agree with all of these.
BEST
Hawthorn:
Newcombe, Sicily, Nash, Amon, Greene
Adelaide: Laird, Sloane, Walker, Fogarty, Dawson

Have the coaches votes come in. I thought Soligo and Sholl had good games.
I reckon Soligo will get a few coaches votes

Huge metres gained and clearance game , easily his best game for the club and in midfield for alot of it

Apologies if posted earlier, this is an awesome video highlighting Dawson's leadership in the last minutes of the game, well worth watching.

Adelaide’s decision to appoint Jordan Dawson as skipper has been further validated, with the star midfielder lauded for showing “elite level leadership” during the thrilling final stages of his side’s win over Hawthorn.

Interesting vision.
If going long forwards should have moved closer to boundary and forced it out if necessary.
Soligo could have played keepings off.
Laird takes off leaving Sicily alone. Would have become a loose man able to run the clock down
Dawson was loose.
Dawson made the right call being the loose man.
I'd say there's a bit to work on there.
Van Berlo didnt look to happy.

Was that the game that we dropped Hendo for despite him being our best the game prior? Even if it did trigger an extension, it can’t be that hard to get someone to want to leave.
That's the one

Absolutely ridiculous selection call

We really shot ourselves in the foot at times during that period

I was really upset with Soligo and that decision to go forward with his kick. The ball ended up going to the Hawks forward line, they could have easily have pinched the game.

A minute left on the clock, you ice the game there with just two uncontested marks.

Im not sure what some expect.
As you say, huge game and great response to last week.
Career high disposals, 15 contest, 6 tackles, 5 marks, 8 clearances, 635m gained in game 22.
Turned it over a bit but seriously .

You only get to take the 30 seconds if your taking a shot on goal..

Wouldve taken more than just 2 marks..

And…
If he hadve gone backwards or sideways there wouldve been posters here that wouldve potted him for that too!

What we should be asking is how, after Soligo held it for 10 seconds and then kicked long to a contest that had a heap of our players in it.. we couldnt even get one finger on it..

Cant say they werent ready for it!

We should just be thankful it wasnt ROB that got that free kick in the middle.. he wouldve panicked and handballed it to one of our players who’s opponent was on top of him.

Or Smith who would have kicked straight into the man on the mark.

I'll add a couple to the GOOD from yesterday:

  • First win in 18 years against Hawks down in Tassie I read. (Not sure how many times we've actually played?)
  • 4 wins in a row isn't anything to be mocked either even if the last one wasn't pretty. Not an easy comp to win 4 in a row so thats tick, first time since 2019 we've done it.

First win against Hawthorn in Tasmania ever. Our other win in Launceston was against St Kilda.

Ugly

The Crowd

10,119 in 21 degree weather would be a concern for the AFL.

It's hard to know whether it's the combination of Hawthorn doing poorly and a growing disconnect between Tassie AFL fans and the Victorian sides due to them potentially getting their own team, but the AFL would have to be worried about only getting 10k to a game when the conditions were absolutely perfect (21 degrees).

I remember when North Melbourne made the decision not to move to Gold Coast at the time they agreed to play a few games up there each season crowds flatlined at Carrara almost immediately.

From memory, North got out of that deal early and a variety of Victorian teams were then sent to Carrara to play home games. We played Richmond there in 2009 in the final game at the ground before the redevelopment.

I suspect it's the same reason crowds are down in Launceston.

How exactly is that?

The fishing show is on 5AA? how is pushing a station program on a 5AA broadcast a conflict of interest?

5AA is a commercial radio station right?
Because its a more attractive show having a Crows regular with a profile hosting it, than a bloke that can't get a game

Is Anthony Hudson any relation to the Hawthorn Hudson’s because he was still being an apologist for that club in that clip, on top of outright barracking for them yesterday.

VOTES PLAYER (CLUB)
7
Taylor Walker (ADEL)
6 Rory Laird (ADEL)
5 Rory Sloane (ADEL)
5 Conor Nash (HAW)
3 Jai Newcombe (HAW)
2 James Sicily (HAW)
2 Sam Frost (HAW)
Not suprised Sicily got in there , would have liked Soligo to get a vote or more

Newcombe and Sloane stiff not to get a couple more

Brownlow votes will be interesting ! Was a hard game to judge
