The problem with Fitzroy and South Melbourne was that their supporter bases aged.

When the clubs were relocated, the demographic was strongly skewed to those that were 60+.

I wonder what the average age of a Demon member would be?

Maybe you need to do some rebuilding there too?

You can take Scully and Trengove, it wont make a difference, the Gold Coast will have twice the young talent as you from 1 draft, David Swallow is twice the prospect of both of them.


The important thing in the coming years will be how good your middle aged players are, not your young ones.

Yes it is a sorry state of affairs for some of those clubs. The toast should surely now be regretting taking the fuzzy lampost. Sydney will pull through as they have a strong team-orientated culture. North will struggle but hopefully Bucks will guide them through the storm... oh thats right, north put all their eggs in one basket and failed miserably. Hopefully its not too late to lure laidley back to arden street. Perhaps an iced vovo will sweeten the deal?
