The time of day does make a difference though, red v maroon is workable at night but in the sunlight, that won’t be pretty

I would actually love if we wore the clash but with the maroon shorts.
That or the Swans wear the South Melbourne V with white shorts, and the Lions wear the Roy kit with blue shorts.

Looks like over the last few years they've done every combo possible - not consistent.
I expect both teams will be full home, as in 2022

There’s just no way this happens, Sydney will 100% be in all red, just depends what they do with Brisbane.

I agree the red and maroon will clash badly in daylight.
If Sydney routinely wear their South Melbourne kit in Melbourne, that's a good precedent (it's not a normal away strip ... has some meaning).
If Sydney insist on wearing their home, think it has to be Lions in yellow Bears with white shorts.

Honestly this is a nice match up... but it's definitely not great on TV in the afternoon - take for example:
There's no way Sydney won't push to wear their full home kit in the GF, and they've earned that right, too.
Sydney home vs Bears clash makes the most sense to me, and it's not an awful match up by any means, it's probably Brisbane's best ever clash kit imo.

Not quite, Port in 2014 wore the prison bars w/ white shorts in Week 1, white clash w/ white shorts in Week 2, and home guernsey w/ white shorts in Week 3. Presumably would've worn home guernsey w/ black shorts in the granny if we made it, for 4 different outfits over the 4 weeks, but that didn't happen. Brisbane could (but hopefully not) be in their home with white shorts and tick that one off.

Ultimately I'm happy with any combination as long as we're not wearing white shorts.

Will we have home jumpers ready for a team to wear when they win the premiership this year. Will the Brisbane players have their home jumpers ready to wear when they go up to receive their premiership medal. Brisbane and Sydney has worn their home jumpers in each of their Grand Finals recently. Brisbane wore white shorts in the 2001 Grand Final.

Why? Tigers got their medals in clash. If a team wins in a jumper, they should embrace it

In 2010, St Kilda wore their clash in the GF, but if they won, they were going to change into their home jumpers for the presentation, since no photo exists of them holding the cup in their own jumpers (since most of them swapped jumpers with Collingwood players prior to the '66 presentation)
This wasn't an issue for the Tigers in 2017, as there were already multiple cases of them with the cup in their own jumpers (and indeed, there have been two more cases after 2017)
Since both Sydney and Brisbane have won at least two premierships in their traditional jumper, one of them wearing a clash on Saturday should not be an issue.

Unless you put Sydney in white shorts and they want to wear their home jumper, Brisbane HAS to be Bears clash.

I wish we finished higher on the ladder, us in full home kit and Swans in clash with red shorts would have been the perfect jumper match up.

The Grand Final is played in the afternoon which makes mostly red and mostly maroon a worse clash than it would for a night game. While the lions fan in me obviously wants to see us in our home jumper, the best contrast is for us to wear our bears clash with maroon shorts. Knowing the AFL though I'm expecting them to make the idiotic call of us in home jumper and white shorts.

(honestly what an amazing thing to be able to find out easily thanks to Mero )
Pretty surprising that the AFL allows this match up, as it pretty clearly goes against their rules on dark colours and there's always a clash kit worn in the QClash.
It's not the worst clash, but personally I think it warrants a team in a clash strip.
