Hi all.

Just wanted to see how common this is? Peel Thunder (WAFL) has 'The Hayden Ballantyne Wing' at its home ground. It came off the back of his Sandover Medal win a few years back.

Can anyone tell me anything else similar at suburban grounds etc around Aus? Players being honoured with stands / wings / gates etc even though they're still playing?

Essendon have the Dustin Fletcher end at Etihad.

I think it's a bad idea naming anything after a player whilst they're still playing.

Silly, silly idea.

Imagine Lance franklin lining up for goal at the Franklin end of the ground.

I hear they will be renaming the other end after the former Essendon rookie and leading goal kicker at the ground come Saturday.

Apparently all the seats on that wing have prongs sticking up in the seats. A real pain in the ass

And this is why the forums needs a like button. So I can just acknowledge I found this hilarious without commenting.

Daniel Southern retired 10 years ago, but the MCG trustees liked his mullet and tattoos so much, they named the Great Southern Stand after him

??

Pardon my ignorance, I was living overseas then.
Ruccuito absolutely nailed him with a fair (at the time) bump.

Basically one bloke is as solid as a brick wall and the other one is the size of a Jockey.
