Thought he played really well today - great to see him coming more into the midfield. Hopefully will see him playing off the wing, especially when Brown and Gibson come back.

I've enjoyed seeing him be a lot more physical lately. Some great defensive efforts today.
Rather than trying to craft him into a "Mundy" type midfielder, I'd prefer him to stay back and beat out Harry O for an AA spot as an attacking flanker.

Always lean back and relax when Birch has the ball. Was he our secret weapon off half back in 2008?

I had noticed some added physicality to his game of late also; both he & Young. Birch has always had a big body & used it well around the ground.
