A really bad season obviously. Coaching got exposed and Davante proved far too hard to replace.
A lot of talent on the team but never got it together.
The last month was a lot of fun and it was good to go into the last week of the season with a chance at playoffs, I'm thankful for that.
Clear highlight of the season was last week vs Vikings, but the Dolphins game comes close for me. Two very fun games to watch in front of the TV.

Interesting to see what happens from here but what will be, will be.

Yeah, I'm not devastated by the loss by any means.

Disappointed sure, but we were shit for a good portion of this season. The expectation was quite low at 4-8. To be in with a sniff in the final week showed a lot of character.

But yes, where do we go from here?

I'm not really fussed regarding a time frame for a decision from Rodgers, as long as its before the start of the new league year. It makes no difference. He's allowed to see how his body heels, if he wants to go through the rigours of another season. That being said, it was a notable downturn in quality play from him.

Need to look at coaching/playcalling. I don't think we went backwards talent-wise,but it was the same old issues, offense and defense.

One thing I am concerned about is Quay Walker, that's the 2nd ejection and at least the 3rd personal foul he's got this year. He's 22 and has time to grow and learn, he also seems willing as well. I hope it translates to the field because his play was great for a rookie and he has the makings of a good LB but if he can't control his emotions he won't last long on any team despite the talent.

Lazard is pretty eh. Drops it more than he should. Has good chemistry with Rodgers which is nice on third down but he'll get more than he deserves elsewhere like MVS. We'll miss his blocking but whatever.

If Rodgers returns, Big Dog will play I think. Crosby is so done though. Not sure on Cobb, it didn't appear as if he dropped off, if he wants to take like a vet min then he can be the last WR on the roster.

On Walker, yes really immature but hopefully he learns from this. 22 is so young. Shown a lot this year, as has Wyatt when he finally had opportunities late.

One thing, and it wasn't to this degree, but our red zone offense was shithouse last year with Hackett too, the difference wasn't just him.

Redzone offense was so bad this year. Which was pretty publicised in most of our games by the end of the year. Even just then against Detroit. We had them on the ropes moving the ball at Will in the first half. 3 field goals and a fumble all deep in thier territory. Kills you.

Yeah, I know it was well publicized, but it was just as bad with Hackett as OC last year which people have forgotten for some reason.
This year we ranked 24th, scoring a touchdown 51.85% of the time. Last year we were ranked 18th, scoring on 57.53%.
Compare that to 2020, we were ranked #1, scoring a touchdown on an incredible 76.81% of trips to the red zone.

Stack the box and we can’t punch it in. Crap way to finish up with how detroits game went. Feels little different with the way we finished this year and if rodgers comes back. Kinda Just need to rip the Band-Aid off. Don’t know what I want with him coming back or going. I mean if they truelly think they can win a superbowl and he commits to that then year but if we are truelly are a 8-9 type of team like this year or even a 10-7 team then might aswell give love the keys cause he’ll do similar and we can see what he’s got.

Even though I think the thumb injury affected rodgers more than he let on. Some of those throws or misses more like it. Is just isn’t rodgers

I'm ok to put it down to immaturity, but **** I'd hate to see it again.

Partly blame the lack of overall discipline the defense displays time and again, which I think is Barry's issue, so hopefully a more positive influence from a new DC would help also...

Packers HC Matt LaFleur said he expects DC Joe Barry to return in 2023.

Barry's defense faced plenty of scrutiny throughout the season. Under Barry, the Packers finished 17th in the league in points allowed (21.8), 28th in yards per play (5.8) and allowed the 16th-most yards per game (336.5). In the team's 20-16, Week 18 loss to the Lions, Barry's defense allowed two second-half touchdowns, with the last coming with just under six minutes to go in the game. At the time he was hired, Barry never had a defense ranked better than 28th in the league. While he's gotten marginally better since being hired in 2021, nobody is confusing him for being one of the top defensive minds in the league.

What are we going to get for rodgers in a trade? Seems like a lot more smoke than previous years regarding him. And more to the point lot more whispers about the team being more comfortable handing love the keys.

A part of me is still holding out hope we get one more season from him... selfish reasons as I was hoping to head to Lambeau for Packers/Chiefs.

That being said, I feel that dream is gone, I think its highly likely he won't be with us next season.

Very difficult to put a price on him after this season...

Plus side:
Brady retiring puts his price up
Noone views Carr or Garropolo in the same way they view Rodgers.

I saw 2024/25 1st rd picks as an idea which may work for both sides. Still hard to justify giving that up for what may only be a years service, but there's too many what ifs to put a solid number on it.

Knowing us, we'll probably get bent over though.

Brady retiring definitely helps. Think some needy team will throw 2 firsts for him still. And part of me thinks he’ll play out of his mind. Big fu*k you to the league.

Reckon the thumb hindered him a bit more than they let on also.

I’m the same as I want to see another year and hope it clicks but then part of me thinks. Look we get to the same point and he ultimately hasn’t gotten them over the line. Let’s give love a shot and see what they have. Go get a nice number 1 WR, draft a TE high and see how it pans out with a pretty nice arsenal of offensive weapons for the young kid

That would be awesome to watch too.. just for the aesthetically pleasing uniform match up

It's a shame that it's looking like a real chance Rodgers won't finish his career in GB. He's talked about how special that would be a lot. To waste it playing a season or two in NY, Nashville or Vegas would just be a bit lame. None of those teams are a QB away from a SB, but whatever.
If we get a few first rounders and if we can dump Savage with him too that'd be cool but it will still be a very sad day and anyone suggesting otherwise is kinda weird. I never understand the constant masterbating in excitement that he could leave.

Was going to head over this season so no Rodgers might make things cheaper, but it was a bucket list item of mine to see Rodgers play in Lambeau.

I agree it’ll be a sad day but I think it’s just time to rip the Band-Aid off. And as much as I love rodgers and appreciate how good he was/is. I’m a little tired of the way he handles himself regarding his future and at times throughout the year. I like the fact he says what he thinks and stands for what he does, but he can go about things a different way.

If our defence was as good as our ‘supposed talent’ was supposed to be then yeah let’s try make a run for it with a weaker nfc but it’s time to see if love is any good and they sound like greenbay are more happy with him than last couple years. That youthful confidence might work with these young wr’s.

Well it looks like Rodgers to the Jets is going to happen once they figure out the compensation. I would have loved for Rodgers to finish his career in GB but it seems that was never on the cards with how the last couple of off-seasons have gone.

I'm thoroughly behind Love now, he's going to have some rough patches this season but hopefully he can just show some glimpses that he's got a good future at being QB1 in GB.

Yeah been waiting for the news to be official to post, and it still isn't official but whatever. Got a lot of thoughts really.
It sucks as you said Grey Wind, I really would have loved Rodgers to finish his career as a one team player, because it's so rare. Even Joe Montana played for the Chiefs ffs lol.
I am very grateful to have started every season a reasonable chance at a Super Bowl because Rodgers was our QB, and that every Monday morning when I wake up whether it's 3:30, 4:30, 5:30am, I knew we were actually a chance to win the game because Rodgers could weave some magic and lead the team to a victory.
It's been extremely special, and I am very glad that I cherished the last little run we had, with games this season like the Dallas, Miami and Vikings games being real standouts and so much fun and so meaningful to so many people. This game is so much more than just a sport, it's an escape from real life, and sometimes you need that.
I don't really wanna talk about Gute and his potential mistakes, that can wait.
It'll be so hard to watch Rodgers play for the Jets but I'll watch some of their games, and I don't see them being too good of a team.

Meanwhile in Green Bay, we have a young guy to be excited about. Nobody knows yet how good he'll be, which is why it's interesting that the front office are taking such a gamble on a guy that they don't know about. But I honestly think playoffs are a reasonable goal to set this season for this team, as again, nobody (apart from Rodgers) is leaving, and a lot of players will improve, particularly guys like Walker, Stokes and Wyatt. Add the two first rounders into that equation and hopefully we're a solid team.
It's impossible for Love to live up to the lofty expectations we have after Rodgers, but it's going to be a fun ride anyway.
I just personally have one regret, and that is that I didn't get to see the guy who made me fall in love with the game play a home game for the team I support. I was close to going but covid changed that, and then this year I missed a chance through another reason. But I'm keen to get there this year.

Honestly, I'm just glad its done so we can move forward. Still sad, but it's good to not have to wonder anymore.

Obviously very surprised the conditional pick is dependant on playing time. Could make for an interesting situation late in the season if he doesn't play well early!

I would say the bigger news will be how much of the contract we lose. That's the interesting part and if a majority of it goes we should be in good stead to keep re-signing our good young core of players.
Agreed - that is the key detail I reckon. Given how many picks you got for him, I am assuming at this stage that the Packers are paying at least 30-40% of the salary - not much reason for the Jets to give away so many picks and then the Jets also take on the full salary and earlier contract terms.

Then again, the Jets be the Jets be the Jets, so we won't know for a little while yet.
