Hangover Part III

Tood Phillips inspired and directed trilogy has ended. For some, it is thankful, others may feel it is an end to an all time classic.

I reckon Phillips deliberately took a different the wolfpack in a different direction from its predecessors. A darker, grittier film, perhaps gaining inspiration from recent sequels that takes the viewer on a more gripping adventure (ie. iron man 3, dark knight rises. Whilst the virtues of a wolfpack are espoused at the beginning, it is the relationship between comedic Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Mr Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong) that forms the basis for the film.

Usual cameos, and a tying up of sorts with appearances from all the main actors from H1
but not tyson

Personally I left feeling a little empty, confused, and partially emotional. Wanted more, but when the credits rolled I was kinda happy it finished. Put The Hangover (1) on an absolute pedestal.

Out of 5 wolfies I give it a very generous

stay for the credits

The first one is so absolutely, unbelievably overrated it blows my mind and I didn't bother with the 2nd one.
For work purposes I've seen a bit of the third - so, so average. If the jokes aren't forced, then they are of the lowest common denominator. Just crap.

work purposes?

god damnit I missed the credits

I went in with low expectations but it worked.

From the previews I was afraid they would flog every laugh they could out of Chow but it wasnt too bad. Alan just wasnt the same though

It lacked the 'bang' that the others had. One of the keys to the movie was they always lacked control, the wolf pack never really had any idea what they were doing and neither did we. This one it felt much more planned and organised, but I guess by now theyre experienced campaigners when it comes to international chase downs and gangsters.

I still love the idea of a 3 pretty standard people being thrown into chaos and sucked into this adventure and the same happened here so I gave it a thumbs up for that. I just wished they spent more time creating a bit more chaos.

The giraff thing was absurd even for Allan

everything seems to fit in well like a puzzle.

i concur that H1 had a chaos and frazzled approach that worked so well. everything was fresh and new, which gave the world something different and unexpected. i think losing one of their own (doug) made it gripping for us the viewer wondering wtf is going on and how they'd get him back (deadline of wedding made everything more manic too).

but then H2 we were introduced to a future brother in law. no connection there with us.

as the judges on the block would say, where is the wow factor?

H1 had some laugh out louds but also some unexpected wet your pants scenes that were subtle...I still remember wetting myself over 'Alan...are we right there?' (1.16)

Best of the series IMO. Loved the darker direction and that Stew and Phil were supports rather than the leads. I felt its presence made the second film better as well, merely the second part of a big story rather than a underwhelming sequel.

Saw it last night.

Like the first one, but think it's over-rated (it's no Old School).

Second one was disappointing.

This one, was pleasantly surprised. Needed more ****, but on the whole, it was pretty decent. Chao is a risk, really easy to over do him (like they did in Community), and I was a bit sick of him, but on the whole, I enjoy it.

7/10; maybe 7.5/10.

wait, post 4 you said it was good, overrated.

but now you say you watched it only last night.

confused i am

The giraffe scene and a few others were over the top and awful, but I was constantly pissing myself laughing whenever Alan or Leslie were on screen.

I may have been a tad wasted too.
