Hi All,
hope to see you before, during and after the footy.
we can have a chat and I will ask you who you voted for in the hawks general election.
if it was for the stale old mouldy Jeff proxy group and not for Gowers, Sill & Malino, who are sick of the crap going on at board level at the moment, and have a vision for the club then you can GAGF.
this is a turning point in the history of the club and if you haven’t got the guts to see that, and are p!ss weak and stick with the current board then I don’t want to have anything to do with you (Nice way of putting it).

thanks to the current board members for your service and dedication, but the stench of Jeff needs to leave the board. Nice attempted spin by rolling out popular vandenberg as Vice President, and (sometimes popular) don scott and Geoff Harris giving their two cents on the nomination committee debacle, but no amount of spin can turn around the momentum started by Ian Silk.

Hi Andy Gowers

Best of luck in the election

I will be voting for you, and I think you will do a terrific job

Can you please, as President, only talk about our Club
Please don’t mention any other Club in any other capacity

Make sure we are known as a Victorian Club, based in Victoria, now and forever more

Start the healing process regarding any past player and family

Get Cyril back to loving this Club again

And get Roughy out of StKilda, bloke must be going insane over there

Cheers :thumbsu:

Speak of the devil...
Jeff on the late night Red's again
He can’t help himself. Also I can’t help but feel his house must have no mirrors. He genuinely has zero self awareness.

I cannot believe the shit Jeff Kennett tweeted.

So much for sport being above politics

The old man used to tell me that no matter what was happening at home, you never aired your dirty laundry in public.

It’s a lesson that Kennett obviously never learnt, because if there was ever a moment you realised who to vote for, he just made your mind up for you

I was undecided on who to vote for, probably still am, but Jeff’s tweets remind me that Nank and others on the board have never had the strength or ability to stop the absolute bastardisation of what the HFC stands for, when he’s continually embarrassed and divided the club with his public statements.

Jeff drunk tweeting that Gowers attempt to be president is political….Andy is a Liberal party member. 🤨

Genuinely odd that he's trying the Trump tactics when they have not ever worked here and are starting to become more harmful than useful in the US. If there's any impartial voters for the AGM on Twitter viewing that shit then they are only going to swing to Gowers as a result.

He's going full Trump. Sounds desperate now.

Just listened to Andy Gowers, he speaks very well. FWIW i want to see new blood on our board, its time for a change of message and reset of our realistic goals. A successful club is measured first by the engagement of its members and our shared passion. Then the playing and coaching group giving their best week in week out, everything else just falls into place. I love my footy club for the afford mentioned reasons, silverware is the result not the be all and end all. It is a game we love watching, discussing (Big footy shout out;)), playing and coaching and if we get that all right, the silverware will be ours. Go Hawks!

I happened to hear Virginia Trioli interview Gowers and Nankivell on the ABC 774 morning program and it was obvious Nank was highly embarrassed by Kennett’s unhinged rants. He really had nowhere to go but to disassociate himself from the tweet.
Kennett has always had a reputation for opening his mouth before engaging his brain and was aptly named the Mouth from the South early in his political career.
At first I thought his unhinged tweet was a send up but Nank acknowledged it so the kindest interpretation is that he was still high on morphine after his back operation.
Unfortunately the decision to ask him to return for a second term as President must be viewed in hindsight as a divisive error of judgement.
Let’s hope future Presidents do not suffer Kennett’s addiction to public self aggrandisement and work in the best interests of the Club not themselves.

Kennett's continued use of the club to push his own agenda has helped me make up my mind ages ago.

I think that this is a very disappointing approach that you take. Let's not create unnecessary divisions in the club but accept the result, whatever that may be, and move forward.

As an example, Easy Slips Catch and I were going back and forth in the thread and agreed to disagree (from memory). But in another thread he liked my anti-coriander post so he is all cool with me :)

Beautifully stated.

Kennett is a toxic menace and the Board seems paralysed by him. Tasmania and Dingley require leadership that can constructively engage with state governments. The racism review requires leadership that can be seen to take responsibility and make necessary structural changes. To make meaningful change, the post Kennett regime needs to offer a lot more than business as usual minus the late night random tweets.

Kennett is delusional. Those tweets are just utter nonsense and reek of desperation to remain relevant. If he thinks we as supporters want to hear that garbage from our president he has also lost his marbles. Going down the Trump/Sam Newman path with his rhetoric which goes down like a lead balloon in Australia. We need Gowers ASAP. Stability starts at the top and he will bring that.

The tweeting has become an embarrassment and will only get worse in the lead up to the state election and our board election.

The rest of the board would want him to shut up, I’m certain those standing no the board ticket would too. But they can’t control him and it makes me wonder how it’s played out in recent decision making. Does Jeff just do what he wants?

Time to go. I’m voting for gowers and whoever else Jeff tells me not to vote for.

The truly scary thing for mine is that we are currently witnessing a fairly restrained Kennett.
Just pause for a second to imagine him post the Club election should Nank and the JK penned ticket not get up.
Think about a Jeff sitting at home over the next couple years, potting incessantly our Clubs leadership, Club direction, Club activity, with his political activism and god complex on full un-leashed and pushing for a coup.

He reminds me so much of Trump.
No real love that doesn't include a mirror and a megaphone.
He could genuinely attempt to ruin the Club should he be sidelined, and there will be those - even from some of the voices on here - that will encourage and abide his madness.
