We need to build up Sheamus Mitchell so he can combat rioli next year, hopefully he can get a good crack at it, string alot of games together so he's decision making at AFL level gets to a really good level. He's to quick to be playing at VFL level.

not sure Port will get flogged if they play the same this week. Credit where it is due, they were absolutely fantastic and negated all our strengths with quite amazing pressure. Having said that, it is a measure of how good the Hawks were playing at the back end of the season, given we lost by three points and had two posters in the last five minutes.

Told everyone here a couple weeks ago to not frap over Kane's musings about Hawthorn, he sets it up and then goes whack once the opportunity rises.

You know Angelo Lekkas was quite a player on his day. I used to really enjoy watching Lekkas when he was up and about.

When he retired prematurely I hoped one day he would have a son who played for us, so we can see the number 37 return to the field with a Lekkas wearing it, but doesn't look like he had a son or he was good at football.

Watching the game again it's pretty obvious we lost it across the half forward line with our lack of contested marking really hurting us down forward.

The problem is if you lost the marking contest across half back the opposition just slingshots it straight back over your head (which is why Scrimmers was so good for us doing this exact same thing).

Can't remember too many kicks to advantage.

There's an undercurrent of AFL fans out there who love to hate Hawthorn. Footy Media likely gets lots of clicks and views from opinion peeps flipping the script on what happened, so it's back to normal programming from here on in at a guess.

The narrative that Hawthorn are cheating with free kicks, or are somehow not as good as results suggest; a bunch of sooks etc., has a ready made audience and they know it.
