Care to make a friendly wager?

Which team out of Hawthorn and North wins a final first?

If North wins a final first, you agree to have Chief suspend/restrict your BF account for a period (two weeks? 1 month?)
If Hawks win a final first, I'll do the same in reverse.

I'll have $50 on Hawthorn

You're so salty from the Geelong thread/s, after you've been told Geelong will be bottom 4. Geelong is LAST in their rebuild, even North is ahead. Goodbye Geelong.
I've posted on this topic before and I'm on record stating the Crows are the best bet in the short term.
Crows will make top 4 and a preliminary final in the next year or two.

Your playing list.

You're third last on the ladder in 2023 only above historically bad teams in WCE and North. Both WCE and North are ahead of Hawthorn in terms of their rebuild.

You've got a lot of best 22 players either over or approaching the age of 30, and you don't have a solid core of 20-25 year old's who will be coming on before those players are done.

All of James Sicily, Sam Forst, Luke Bruest, Jarman Impey, Karl Amon, and Chad Wingard were solidly best 22 for Hawthorn this year. All of them will be 29 years (or older) next season.

You have a couple of young players around that 22 year mark like Jai Newcombe and Will Day who are solid, but there's a huge gap on your list around that age 25~ sweet spot.

In short, you've got a lot of rebuilding to do because your upper age players like Sicily/Frost/etc aren't going to be on your list when you're next competing for a flag.
Sicily yes, Impey yes, Amon yes & Breust yes. Wingard was either injured or out of favour for most of the season. Frost played most of the year but he’ll be moved on and out of the 22 and isn’t good.

Sicily is a gun, Amon gun and both play in our next tilt. Impey could but he and Breust are others for experience. The rest is literally all kids and the list is entirely built from the core of 18-25.

And describing Newcombe & Day as solid and saying there’s a gap is just plain wrong. Hell, Hawthorn will be pushing for a top 8 spot by next year or atleast the year after.

I’d do this in a heart beat. Means everyone gets less of you and I won’t be here regardless so no loss.

Geelong have an age crash. They were also the oldest premiership winners ever, before that it was 2015 hawks.

I can get there’s an age gap in the list, but compared to other teams, hawks will have less retirement impact (that was 2022 news) and the most to gain from improving youth

Those two bits of the opinion are frankly, rubbish

1. Thanks for your feedback.

2. Why do I care about your opinion about the crows … in a thread about the Hawks rebuild?
There's discussion about the rebuilds of Hawthorn, Adelaide and North Melbourne.
Crows are ahead of the others in their rebuild.
When they do, let us know how much money you made.
Interested to see how much bookies offer for Crows to finish top 4 in 2024.

To be fair both Crows and North started their rebuild 12 months early compared to the Hawks. They should both be well ahead.

Didn't they all start rebuilding in 2020?
I've also previously stated that Hawks will win a premiership before Crows and North.
Crows will make top 4 and preliminary final but won't win a flag.
North are at least five years away from playing finals again.

North will play finals again before Hawthorn, Essendon, Richmond and Geelong. You can lock that in

North started their rebuild back whenever LDU was drafted at the latest. It wasn't 2020 that's for sure.

You really hate big Vic clubs that aren't Carlton huh.

Amazed you didn't include Collingwood. Admit it, you really wanted to.

Crows had pick 6 in 2019.

Well, that was funny to read.

I like this thread.

See you next year.
