You are tanking for draft picks. This is what your building the club around

Id put it in the bin if it wasnt the sole focus of the club, but it is so its a bit hard to
Yeah, we’re actually deliberately injuring players and trying to lose games.

Clarkson and Dimma had the same questions raised and a similar WL early days. They had a whole lot more first round talent on their list too.

Both coaches kicked on in the 3rd/4th season. I'm happy to give Mitchell some time. The first season he had was just clearing the deadwood. Last season IMO is the first year he had a side he could call his own.

Yes, and so did a whole lot of coaches that never made it. This is what I mean, you are comparing someone who has done absolutely nothing as a senior coach with three and four time premiership coaches. What tells you that Mitchell is comparable to them, instead of being comparable to Brendon Bolton and Stuart Dew?

Plenty of Hawks supporters had them contending for the 8. The other slightly less optimistic ones still had them winning 8-10 games and improving massively.

Now they sit at 0-5 and it’s a “young team doing what a young team does”

Making it up as they go along.
It’s almost like a young list struggles to cover the loss of first string players to injury.

Who knew.

No one in Victoria given the sooking people have done over the West Coast Eagles form in the last 2 years

In saying this your injury list is basically nothing. Missing 3 players isnt your issue since its a issue all 18 teams have for the most part.

I think we're arguing the same point. We only will know with the benefit of hindsight.

So you made all of your big claims on the assumption that the Hawks would have an injury free run? You’re not even experiencing anything out of the ordinary, the only reason the Hawks are feeling the pinch is because your list is so poor. But you were told that and didn’t want to listen “cuz Hawks”

Oh dear, what big claims did I make?

Not many lists can cover losing their best mid, their CHF, their most experienced and best goal kicker, and just roll along, let alone being so young and having your midfield output drop away.

Our best mid and BF winner is missing. Our best KF is out. Our leading goalkicker is out. Two of our best mids are currently way out of form, a shadow of their performances last year.

Oh but nothing is out of the ordinary....

Missing 3-4 best 22 players and having a few mids out of form is hardly extenuating circumstances.

Richmond and StKilda are examples of bad injury runs. Carlton and Freo are in the double digits.

The Hawks have experienced some mild discomfort and all of the supporters expectations have been thrown out the window. Back to reality.

The second youngest list in the comp missing 3-4 players is equal to the Cats or Pies having 8-10 players out, because all of a sudden you’re playing too many youngsters, and surrounding them with other fringe players who are also still learning and developing rather than with experienced leaders.

This rebuild is obviously new ground for many privileged hawks supporters who have pretty much only known success.
Besides one particular hawks supporter, Clarkson’s top up strategy was lauded universally by the faithful
Because Clarko
Because destination club
Because hawthorn
With that failure and Clarkson’s exit, 2 years of drafting under the “genius” rookie coach Mitchell would see the hawks back playing and winning finals apparently.
The brutal reality of the rebuild is now being hammered home to the faithful who are questioning the players, list management, conditioning, and coaching.
A loss this week to a club they have mocked relentlessly may be just the jolt required in accepting the reality of the task at hand …
Hawthorn exceptionalism!!!

These aren't best 22 players, these are integral players to our resurgence. Day and Lewis in particular.

Newcombe averaged 25 disposals and is now at 19. While Nash was averaging 24 a game, and is now at 18. That's a massive regression for a rebuilding team. If you add this to Day, three of our front running midfielders are terribly out of form or missing.

Under those three we have Ward and McKenzie. Both are 20 years old.

If we can get Newk, Nash and Day playing at a similar level as last year, we will be back to winning quickly.

No one said we had an amazing list, Sam inherited a list full of holes. No one can dispute that. Hawks supporters were optimistic for this year, due to our wins against Dogs, Pies, Lions last year. They had that right.

Everyone knew the Hawks had a young, inexperienced and shallow list during pre season and that it would be a major reason why they would struggle to improve, but none of your supporters wanted to hear about it.

It was all clearance numbers, spruiking reserves players from other clubs and blaming it all on a coach who hasn’t been there for 4 pre seasons.

Optimism is fine, shutting down everyone who had a different (and so far correct) opinion is wrong.

Now we have the same arrogant posters rolling out weak excuses and cop outs when in reality this was all easily foreseeable back in November.

Hawks will get on a roll at some point and find a few wins. The talk of finals or even 10 wins was dumb. And those posters will be laughed at.

Show me a supporter base that isn’t positive about the upcoming season. 😂

I love it that it hurt you and Red Bull so much.
