Missing 3-4 best 22 players and having a few mids out of form is hardly extenuating circumstances.

Richmond and StKilda are examples of bad injury runs. Carlton and Freo are in the double digits.

The Hawks have experienced some mild discomfort and all of the supporters expectations have been thrown out the window. Back to reality.

We've got 9 on the injury list same as Carlton.

Saints, Bombers and Freo + Richmond have it worse.

We are missing some big structural pillars in our starting FB, starting CHF and starting midfielder. A good team can cover it. A team that is as inexperienced as ours just won't.

Good to see Damo fof all people going after cheerleader Cornes:

"What's been genius about him?"

I'm pretty sure Cornes backing in Mitchell is just a proxy war between him and Northmen in Damo/King.

Damo/King love going hard on the Hawks and Cornes seems to get a hard on trolling North after JHF bounced.

Optimism is fine, shutting down everyone who had a different (and so far correct) opinion is wrong.

Now we have the same arrogant posters rolling out weak excuses and cop outs when in reality this was all easily foreseeable back in November.

Hawks will get on a roll at some point and find a few wins. The talk of finals or even 10 wins was dumb. And those posters will be laughed at.
I think most hawks fans were optimistic and aware of how vulnerable we would be to injuries.

I never thought 2024 would be the year for finals, 2025 is when we need to start to push.

Now that’s something you’re definitely well credentialed to talk about!

It was 8 days ago mate

let it go GIF

As I said you’re allowed to be positive and optimistic. There’s a difference between being glass half full and being so arrogant you become delusional.
You’d want to really hope that Hawthorn don’t get some players back, find some form and knock of the Blues, because if summer optimism gets you this indignant a loss to the club you’ve got such a hard on for is going to be very hard for you to take.

Interested in how hawks supporters view the leadership of Sicily.
He’s long been one of the most undisciplined players in the competition and now looks basically uninterested.
This rebuild was always going to be a monumental task for a rookie coach with a fully committed on field leader essential.
Does coach Mitchell have that in Sicily?

Stop calling it summer optimism, start acknowledging it was delusion.

😂 no, it was never delusion to hope that we’d not get a bunch of injuries and have our mids drop away.

Our best mid and BF winner is missing. Our best KF is out. Our leading goalkicker is out. Two of our best mids are currently way out of form, a shadow of their performances last year.

Oh but nothing is out of the ordinary....
Maybe they're not that good?

And if four best 22 injuries and Conor Nash being s**t (when he is usually average) is enough to destroy your season then there should never have been calls of finals and 10+ wins to begin with.

The backtracking is astounding.
Day, Lewis, Watson, Breust, CJ, Wingard, Blanck. If you want to share your opinion and be taken seriously at least know the subject matter.
