Whispers about 3 more topliners from the Hawks one perhaps with the same surname as the new coach

Brodi would be the most obvious recruit, if Derrick had is sons best football interests in mind he would want him playing as highish standard as possible , selfish recruit, Brodie's football will soon go backwards.

What a dumb comment. I suppose Grant Weeks is your example. He played VFL, then stepped down to HDFL, kicked a ton of goals, then went to the BFL and kicked 450 goals in three years. His footy really "went backwards". Maybe he would have kicked 600 in three years if he didn't have that "backwards" time in the HDFL.

Or maybe you are referring to Daniel Anderson, went "backwards" in the HDFL and then won South's B&F. Or Nick Knight, backwards went "backwards" from South to Colbo but won a top 3 GV club B&F this year. Do you want more examples....

recruiting in the HDFL is flat out at present. As soon as a gun is named as sign another one has signed somewhere else!
Looking at being quite a good year next year to watch as games will be pretty good standard most weeks. I am guessing LBU may be closer to the chasing pack next year.
With Colbo celebrating its centenary? next year Id expect they will get a few on board shortly as well.

Hey guys the exodus of Burra players continues.

Darcy Richards to be an assistant coach at the Zoo.

Great get for the boys at Atkins st considering the Burra boys going to play under Dekka

Yeah great pick up. Very professional and driven footballer. Not to mention his a gun! Also heard a rumour that we should expect a couple more signatures from ehawk boys to the kennel! North looking the goods!

Signing this time of the year means jack schit, clearances don't open til next year local league contracts aren't worth the paper they are wrote on.
The blokes that are signing are genuine dedicated footballers who wouldn't do that to club ******** so shut ya mouth

Must have been a good year on the crops.

But they could have done a good thing for the entire league by not getting one of those big name players and put the money into a decent visitors rooms ;)

correct me if I'm wrong fellas but isn't mounts one of victoria's luckiest clubs? my understanding is that a wealthy landholder/farmer [seem to recall it was an older lady] from the district died without any immediate family to benefit financially
so the person's will stated that the funds from bank accounts--super funds be invested on behalf of Mt. P. F.C. And they've been using the interest accrued from these accounts to keep the club strong financially
This was a while back but the share market has recovered substantially since '08 Any update welcomed

Nearly right. Mary Conroy was a life member and had sisters and nieces and nephews of which were beneficiaries of her will. She did leave a bequest to the footy club and was a very wealthy lady with huge farming lands around Mt Pleasant. In later life she lived in Rochester and travelled to games every week to watch Mounts and did all the washing of jumpers weekly. She loved the club and with her legacy probably help them win a few more flags long after she has passed away. Pretty sure thats what she wanted.

With all the recruits out at Mounts. Will they give the flag a real shake next year or will Locky still be too good??

Mounts should give it a crack given some of the talent they had, Findlay, Youngy,Koe to name a few add 3 BFL inter league players plus you can bet ya Mary Conroy land holdings Deka has a quality mid field ace up his sleeve.. Not to mention fringe/handy players that will follow..

Hearing a lot out of the zoo at North.. As inconsistent as they have been, couldn't think Richards, Mills, Tyson Findlay (defiantly on board) Ryan Trelfell (90%) will hurt plus talking to Newbridge boys, Postle, Sweeny and ruckman Jones among others.. Could be bit of bark at the kennel..

Add a couple of other big names to the kennel...one a ruckman and another inter league player!

Plenty of cash at the Kennel so they will put something pretty handy together list wise that hasn't been there problem the past couple of years and when they weren't long in the competition it's been culture more than anything. Massina is an experienced Coach with plenty of grunt and Bennett should be good in the role as well so who knows... it's all shaping up to be a great year.

Nev has the same old school approach that Derrick does.. They would tell the club straight up how big a budget they expect and wouldn't take on the job unless that figure is met.. Change the culture.. Dunno about that.. You'll never that the Norf out of North Bendigo.. Especially when the players they're recruiting whilest good footballers, some play up just as hard off field too. Given Bombers occupation he mustn't attend many functions.. :thumbsu:

Doubt that will happen Claude..no doubt bark at the kennel this year but I've heard kerang is most likely as they in talks for a key ruck man inclusion... If that happens I would say some of the newbridge departed would soon follow...
