Now it’s too much congestion.
Yeah? Well if you have the ****en stand rule! Teams would be hellbent on attack. Dirty ball! into the forward line at all costs. More scoring opportunities arise.
Nah dickhead shocking brings the “stand stand ****en stand” rule in. The game slows down.
The kicker can move around 15 metres around off the mark looking where to kick or play on.
Before dickhead Hocking the ball was going forward all the time when Richmond played. Other clubs took notice.
Then…. Here comes dick head . The game is congested again. Bring another 2 people onto the field (dickheads with whistles) that’ll free it up. ;) But didn’t.

If jealous dickheads like sHocking left the game alone and didn’t change and introduce more stupid rules, maybe the umpires could focus on the basics like they did for a hundred years. All the sHocking’s of the world have done is **** the game and **** the umpires decision making, forcing the: to concentrate on shit.

With all the uncertainty in the world around us where you don't recognise the world you grew up in from one day to the next, one thing each and everyone one of us can take solace in. That the head of football at AFL HQ is gonna do some dumb shit and **** everything up

It used to be teams would come up with a game plan that won them games (eg Pagans paddock) then another team would come up with something to stop that and win games and so it would go on, but in our case the governing body stepped in before there was a chance for other teams to come up with a way to stop us or something that worked better.
The other thing is sometimes these styles only work for a period of time while a team has the players to execute it, it just doesn't last forever, the rules don't need to be changed to stop it.

If Richmond players encroached on the mark all the umpires had to do was pay a free kick against.

These are the same umpires that routinely pay more free kicks against Richmond compared to those against Richmond's opponents than they do for any other club.

Therefore, the solution to this problem was simple. If the problem existed.

That the powers that be had to change the rules indicates it didn't really exist...

What existed was a club that was too good and not sufficiently under the Masonic thumbs of AFL House.

Richmond will always be known as the team that was so good that they had to change the rules. It doesn’t happen that often.
I know they changed the rules in Billiards because of Walter Lindrum.
Bradman and the leg side rule in a round about way.
So we are in good company .
Teams will be dominate but never Richmond dominate.

So true...those Rule changes and Rancey retiring stopped an AFL Juggernaut in its tracks!

And I still maintain that Dynasty Teams are magnificent when they occur, regardless of the Team and/or colours!...
Spesh in these days of AFL interference with all their equalization tactics and extra Team intros!
Great Dynasty Teams ought to be celebrated cos they are as rare as hen's teeth and an absolute ornament of the Game!
The pinnacle of what the AFL Football game is all about!
To be celebrated and lorded for their brilliance...to be copied...discussed...they are a breath of fresh air in the Comp!
As previously stated, Dynasty Teams do not last for ever, the game does not allow it...
The players bodies and ages do not allow it!
Dynasty Teams ought to be immortalized not shoddily penalized with rule changes...
Would you cut off the legs of Black Caviar with massive rule changes...to prevent another win...or rather celebrate the next win happening...and live to enjoy it!
Talk about Tall Poppy Syndrome in Oztraylia...she'll be right...there's always another Champ coming through...
No...no...no...great Champions of the Sport are as rare as hens teeth...and need to be praised as role models for all to see!
I accuse The AFL Old Boys Club of poor management of the AFL game...and disgustingly prematurely ending the playing career of a great Dynasty Club, in Richmond, by its shabby/grubby interference!

Although the AFL introduced rule changes to curtail Richmonds dominance some elements of Richmonds game style still exist. You never really heard commentators talk olabout Forward pressure or locking the ball in the FW50 until Richmonds dynasty. But it's fairly mainstream in today's game.
I seem to remember The wobbles Team under both Malthouse and Buckley successfully locking the ball inside the forward half of the ground...

100 percent.

We all know it was Geelong, those clowns got their noses out of joint from the 2017 QF and set about changing the game to bring us down.

Enter Shocking and Whateley with his stupid state of the game bullshit, we all remember Chris Salt on 360 the tuesday after the 2017 GF telling everyone us winning was not good for footy, no: us winning was not good for Geelong.

So glad we went on to beat then in 2019 PF and then the 2020 GF and the look on Shockings face when Dimma went to the bench is one of pure joy.
