Ah yes... (checks book)... looks like a replica of the laceup with narrow vertical stripes we took up in 1886 and were wearing when the club started using the NMFC name in 1888. Very nice.

I love the 1925 one but will also be pleased if they celebrate different periods of our club's very long history on heritage round each year.

But what's it doing on ebay before (as far as I've noticed) it's even been officially announced?

Jumper

H2H,

The ebay thing is a only a football card replica. Not the jumper

If it as you say it is (1886 replica jumper) then the club has doen it again. A great reflection of our wonderful history of our wonderful football club

Just had a look at the club website and the heritage jumpers are up for auction.

"All in all, there are 40 jumpers up for grabs. 22 will be worn by the players in the Round 18 match against the Adelaide Crows at AAMI Stadium, the guernseys of the remaining 17 players will be auctioned 'clean'. There is also 1 heritage guernsey signed by Adam Simpson & Dean Laidley."

Here is the link

Interesting to see how much they go for. At the moment Sav Rocca's has a bid of $250 and is the only one to have reached the reserve.

I can't believe my $1 bid on Shane Clayton's number didn't reach the reserve! Cheapskates! :p :D

Couldn't they have used REAL lace ups?

Funny you mention that. Up here in Rugby league country, I don't often admit they do something better than the AFL, but just recently they released a range of retro guernseys for sale, exact replicas of old ones, with the old sponsors logos, and the Manly ones were even lace-up.

I would love to see them release some retro VFL guernseys, in the old woollen material, REAL lace-ups, old sponsors logos, the works.

Good concept, however I'm not sure how our current sponsors would react to that.

I've seen the Manly RL jerseys and they look terrific. The Sea Eagles could do worse than go back to that full time.

Just entered the bidding myself. Good to see a few other BF folks amongst it too.

Question..................What do you guess would be the "Reserve" amounts for the jumpers. I bid $460 for Wellsy's and it's STILL below reserve.

I think that it's disappointing that the club put reserves on the jumpers. It wasn't the case last year and all members had a chance to have a winning bid. Lots of jumpers went for around $50 from@memory.

The club should give the loyal members with less disposable income a chance too. There are other options to make money.

Wellsy's Heritage jumper has just been listed as "Reserve Reached" at the sum of $500.

I found that out because I had the bid before that amount. Damn!

The Roos heritage jumpers that were sold on eBay last year went for a LOT less than other clubs. For example, many of the Port jumpers went into the thousands - i think Wellsy's one might gotten close to or nudged the $1k mark.

I think a $250 reserve on Sav's jumper for example is not an unreasonable amount, I would imagine many of them would be around that mark, with the 'clean' ones perhaps a little less.

hi there
Just wondering if anyone got one of these or knows of one that they may want to sell - trying to track one down - please message me thanks
